Call from work doesn't connect to freephoneline number

Post by sternem »

I helped my sister setup freephoneline with a voip adapter a couple years back. She used to be able to call her freephoneline number from her workplace but now she is getting a message that calls from a payphone are not accepted. Same when she tries to call my parents who also have freephoneline service with a VOIP adapter.

Is this an incorrect listing of her work number as a payphone in the freephoneline systems?

Can she call her FPL number and your parents with a cell phone?

If yes, I would start by complaining to the company that supplies her workplace with phone service. She should say she can't call these two numbers from work, but she can with her cell phone. Here's the important part: if they ask any questions about the FPL numbers, she should lie and say she doesn't know anything. She should particularly not mention anything about VoIP. She shouldn't even admit to owning the numbers. Any information she gives them will give them an excuse to blame someone else.

You may also wish to open a ticket in case there is anything FPL can do to solve the problem: http://support.fongo.com/anonymous_requests/new

Yes, she dialing with her cell works.

It's the message that is strange. Something like this phone number doesn't accept call from payphone. Thanks for the suggestions Mango.

Any FPL staff know what this could be?

Since FPL doesn't not include free technical support, they may not respond.

But visit http://support.freephoneline.ca/entries ... Pay-Phones
It might be related.

Do what Mango wrote and open up a ticket.

If no one responds, send a PM with the ticket # to http://forum.fongo.com/ucp.php?i=pm&mode=compose&u=7852
