"anonymous" call rejected
It's been a while now that some call just go directly to my Voice Mail or my forwarding number. So today after 2 call in a row I decide to check what was going on. While going through the call log I saw that all call from "anonymous" caller id where rejected.
I first look to check if Fongo have add an "block anonymous call" option to there online account setting ---> Couldn't found one.
I then check my ATA, an OBI202. Didn't found any parameter that seem to block incoming call from anonymous caller.
I also try the *87 just in case someone have dial by mistake *77. But didn't change anything.
I do thing that is Fongo that is blocking the call rather than my ATA, because while testing:
After making a call from a "anonymous"callerID # to my FPL the call just transfert and I could see a trace of it in my ATA. (no change in the data transmit or receive and no change in the "last call from")
But one time my FPL phone rang 1 time before the transfert. And than the transmit, receive and the "last call from" data change.
Do I forgot to check something and it's blocking those call?
Am I the only one for who the "anonymous" caller are rejected?
And if it's Fongo who block them... why??? I've got some important call coming from those "anonymous" caller!
thanks

We are not rejecting anonymous calls.
I just tested now by calling from a Bell landline and block my caller ID to my FPL number an it worked.

Uncheck AnonymousCallBlockEnable.
http://www.obihai.com/OBiDeviceAdminGuide
"Enable blocking of Anonymous Calls on this service. Anonymous calls are rejected with a SIP 486 (Busy) response and Call Forward On Busy service is not applied.
Note: It is possible for a user to set this parameter from the phone using a Star Code"
*87 is unblock anonymous call
If you copied someone's anti-Telemarketing digitmap list or rule, where a "?" without the quotation marks would represent an anonymous call, then anonymous calls will also be dropped to voicemail.
Go to User Setting >User Defined Digit Maps
Label: Telemarketers
DigitMap:
(6047579716|4164004000|?|18455008249)
Remove the "?" if you don't want to block anonymous calls.
Or if your X_InboundCallRoute for FPL has {(MTelemarketers)|?:},{ph} in it, remove the question mark if you don't want anonymous calls dropping straight to voicemail. Go to Voice Services>SP FPL Service
YesAm I the only one for who the "anonymous" caller are rejected?

Re: "anonymous" call rejected
Thanks for your reply.
I still haven't found the problem but I known it's with my ATA.
I try with a old grandstream and "anonymous" call could come through.
I also check the thing that Liptonbrisk suggested:
I also retry the *87
I really don't know what else to check. If someone have anymore ideas it be very appreciated.
Thanks again for your help

Re: "anonymous" call rejected
I also did a reset to factory with my OBI202 and reconfigure only the basic to have my FPL working (directly on the device and not by the online OBItalk config) without changing any of the "routing".
And it's still rejecting all "anonymous" call.
If it can help the firmware is 3.1.0 (Build: 5135) and hardware version is 1.4

You should probably try this:
1. Unplug OBI from power
2. Setup your FPL account on a different device or use Zoiper
3. Place a test call from a cell phone and hide your caller ID
That will help identify the root cause of your issue.

Re: "anonymous" call rejected
To whom it can help
What did the trick for me (at least for what I can tell so far...)
Is to force to disable all un-use service in the OBI.
First directly in the OBI config itself and then by online by unchecking the obitalk and default device AND then unchecking the enable box
so I disabled the everything I wasn't using ... the AA, Gateway, trunk, OBItak, OBiPLUS, OBiBlue ...
after I did a manual restart... and than it was working out of no where...
I can't explain why... but I'm just happy it's finally working after all the time I past trying to make it work and everything I try.
Just hope it can help someone else... and that it will stay like that!

Re: "anonymous" call rejected
Yes, it's still giving me trouble from time to time. But I found that if in your router you give your OBI a static IP and than program the same static IP in to your OBI config the anonymous call go through most of the time (90%).
