Hello,
registered a sip softphone on my iphone cause VOIP box kicked out. Delete the service and uninstall the softphone from iphone can not solve the problem.
Reset the SIP password is a solution to this issue.
Thanks!

Re: SIP password reset
A. Please note that only one registration per Freephone account is allowed at any time.
When there are multiple devices/softphones using the same account, only the most recent registration is valid. The previous device will lose registration and incoming calls will not work on it.
Registration is required for incoming calls but not for outgoing calls.
Stopping FPL registration on the SIP app and rebooting the ATA is the solution.
Alternatively, you can use Fongo Mobile instead if you prefer--or buy another VoIP unlock key to use with your SIP app.
B. Also, more than 5 registration attempts within 5 minutes can result in a temporary IP ban from the FPL server being used.
From https://community.freepbx.org/t/trunk-s ... ca/22479/8
"As May 2013, our servers will rate limit REGISTER requests to a maximum of 10 requests per 5 minutes. Each authentication round usually consumes 2 requests (digest auth), so it is a fair number given our guidelines. Also, it does not affect INVITES (which are also authenticated)...
This rate limit is applied per IP address as our service is tailored to residential Canadian users (ADSL/Cable)."
If you're temporarily IP banned, you could then try switching ProxyServer to a different FPL server than the one you were previously using (voip.freephoneline.ca, voip2.freephoneline.ca, or voip4.freephoneline.ca:6060), unless you need to use voip4.freephoneline.ca:6060 because you have SIP ALG forced on in your router. The purpose of voip4.freephoneline.ca:6060 is to circumvent SIP ALG features in routers. Or you can disable FPL SIP registration in all devices (turn off your ATA; disable the app) and wait several hours until the temporary ban clears.
With respect to temporary IP bans, these 3 timers are important and should be set properly:
https://support.freephoneline.ca/hc/en- ... redentials
i) Registration Interval:3600 seconds (1 hour)
ii) Registration Expiry: 3600 seconds (1 hour)
iii) Failed Registration Re-Try Interval: 120 seconds
If you properly followed this PDF guide for your OBi202, your timers are set properly: http://forum.fongo.com/viewtopic.php?f= ... 805#p73839.

Re: SIP password reset
Hi sir,
Thanks for your quick reply. being using freephoneline for over 7 years and appreciated your service!
Just messed up with the sip account and when I realized, I delete the sip service on my iphone and delete the app as well. But due to any reason, that app keep on logon into my SIP accounts.
Temperately to solve the issue, I change my ATA's expiration time form 3600 to 360, a situation now is my ATA and the ghost SIP service kicking each other out for a while. There is another risk of IP ban as you mentioned before.
For me, the best way is to reset the SIP password.
Hope you can understand my situation.
Regards!

Hi, I'm not actually an employee of Freephoneline or Fongo. All the community moderators here are volunteers.chuweitong wrote:

What are you basing registration status on?Just messed up with the sip account and when I realized, I delete the sip service on my iphone and delete the app as well. But due to any reason, that app keep on logon into my SIP accounts.
Are you using https://www.freephoneline.ca/showSipSettings? Keep in mind registration status there can lag behind what's actually occurring.
Also because the registration period/expiry is 3600s or 1 hour, real registration status isn't refreshed frequently even in the ATA. It can just indicate that it's registered even when it's not. While my ATA is registered, if I register the same FPL account on a SIP app, the SIP app will indicate that it's registered with FPL. My ATA will also indicated that's registered with FPL. However, they both can't be registered with FPL simultaneously. So, which registration status is wrong? The ATA's registration status isn't accurate until it attempts registration again in an hour (and even then, with FPL, if your SIP password is wrong, registration status can still show "registered").
The only true way to tell if a device is registered with FPL is to receive an incoming call. If you can receive an incoming call, the device is registered with FPL.
If you've deleted the SIP app, it's highly unlikely that it's able to retain registration past 1 hour. It's not running or able to attempt registration afterwards. And as soon as you attempt registration with another device, the previous device will lose registration (provided a temporary IP ban doesn't occur). The only exception may be if you're using an app that has a Push service (Groundwire and Bria). Those apps run external push servers that register your FPL username and password on them. Consequently, it's important to disable registration in those apps themselves (Groundwire, for example, has a setting that disables registration) if you want incoming calls to go to your ATA, so that registration attempts are disabled on the external Push servers. For some people, using an app that offers its own Push service is a security issue since you're giving your SIP username and password to a third party (Acrobits or Bria, in this example). Anyway, I'm not going to start providing tech support for Acrobits, Bria, or third party SIP apps. I suggest contacting them for support.
If you've deleted a SIP app that doesn't offer a Push service and it's still making registration attempts with FPL after 1 hour, something is bugged. I suggest rebooting your iPhone or contacting the app developer to report a bug.
Resetting SIP password typically means changing it. Changing your real FPL SIP password (found after logging in at https://www.freephoneline.ca/showSipSettings) is impossible without submitting a support ticket. For me, the best way is to reset the SIP password.
So, I'm not sure what you mean by "reset." I don't need to reset anything. In Acrobits Groundwire, for example, I would simply select "Off-Do not Register" under the Incoming Calls settings for FPL.
Regardless, good luck to you.
