Could anyone explain why the name display being sent by my Spa112 ATA is suddenly being overridden by the word 'fongo'? The freephoneline with VOIP unlock key has worked fine for a very long time with no issues. I have reboot the ATA and that has had no effect. Otherwise the service is working fine. Please advise whom I need to contact to investigate this?

Re: Name display overridden with 'fongo'?
Outbound CNAM is dependent upon what you have specified in your ATA and the recipient's carrier. Whether it will passthrough CNAM or do CNAM lookups is dependent on the recipient's service.
a) Login to your ATA. Dial 110#. Enter the IP address you hear into a web browser, and login.
b) Navigate to Voice--> Line (FPL)-->Subscriber Information-->Display Name.
c) Enter your first name and your last name.
d) Click Submit.
If you want to test, use the free Fongo Mobile smartphone app and make calls to it. Make sure you delete your FPL # in your both smartphone's and in Fongo Mobile's address book before testing.
By the way, if you changed the devices listed in your forum profile, please update your profile (you indicated you have a SPA112 while you profile states "Grandstream") so that others can more easily assist you. Thank you.

Re: Name display overridden with 'fongo'?
Thank you for the quick reply. So as the Display Name is set correctly in the freephoneline equipped ATA having rechecked it against your instructions from a to d... and a call to another Fongo number shows the correct name display...
then your suggestion is that the receiving carrier is deleting the name sent/CNAM and substituting the name of their inbound route which is probably 'fongo' in place of the name sent by the ATA?
Ok I can consider that a possibility. I will have a trouble ticket opened at a receiving carrier to investigate and will post the feedback I get. Many thanks.

Re: Name display overridden with 'fongo'?
Thank you very much again for the advice. The problem was at the receiving carrier. Many thanks.
