I have the latest Java installed, Windows 7.

I receive this error when I attempt to launch the desktop application.

Please provide a solution.

Thank you.

Does anyone use the desktop app?

I can't get the desktop to run, I have a Java Runtime error when I attempt to launch. Has support for this application been abandoned?

Please don't crosspost in multiple discussion areas about the same issue. Thank you for your future consideration. Troubleshooting in multiple threads about the exact same issue becomes confusing.

The desktop app has been out of development, as far as I can tell, since February 23, 2013. However, I am able to install and run it perfectly fine on three different computers running Windows 10 version 1809 (OS Build 17763.253) 64 bit edition. Beyond what's suggested at viewtopic.php?f=8&t=19063&p=74810#p74810, I have no other ideas. The instructions were written for a Windows 8 user, but they work perfectly fine for Windows 7 and 10 as well, with the exception of step 3. To run Windows update in Windows 7 follow these steps: https://www.wikihow.com/Check-for-Updates-for-Windows-7.

Free technical support is not offered for Freephoneline's Desktop Application.

That's step 7, listed in bold.

Obivously this hasn't been resolved.

I understand that one might need an older 32 bit version of java for the freephoneline app to run?

So, again, that is step 7 listed in bold from http://forum.fongo.com/viewtopic.php?f= ... 810#p74810.
That link was included in my initial reply in this thread.

Since there was no response from OP (over 2 years until now) and since PCP's issue was resolved, this thread was marked as being resolved.

No, the desktop app works using the latest version of 32 bit java for Windows, and the latest version of Windows 10 also works with the desktop app.
Step 7 in the link states, "ensure your 32 bit version of Java is up to date".

Is there some reason you needed another forum account?

And that works for me in Windows 10 64 bit Pro version 20H2 (OS Build 19042.928) on at least three PCs.

The FPL desktop app continues to work in Windows 10 version 21H1.

Yeah installing 32-bit java was the trick for me.
