Hello,
my Linksys SPA2102 just died and no longer powers up... currently on the old FreePhoneLine number and need to buy a new ATA. Does anyone know which ATAs are compatible with FPL ?

In another post, you mention that you wire your ATA directly into your home's phone jacks.
Keep in mind that if you're connecting your ATA directly to the phone jacks in your house, unless you disconnect the telephone company's line at the demarc, power running from the telephone company's line into your phone jacks can fry your ATA: http://forums.redflagdeals.com/newegg-o ... #p26724416.

If you want a recommendation, Obihai makes the most powerful ATAs intended for residential use. The real successors to the PAP2 series are Obihai ATAs (OBi2xx series sold at Newegg.ca would be the most powerful choice in terms of features, with the understanding that Obihai has a bad online reputation for its support policies) and not newer SPA series ATAs. OBi202, which has two phone ports, doesn't seem to be shipped and sold by Newegg Canada at the time of this post while the OBi200, which only has one phone port, is available to be shipped and sold by Newegg. If you're interested in the OBi202, google Acrovoice and contact them to see if they can order and ship an OBi202 to you. Newegg Canada and Acrovoice are the only authorized Obihai retailers in Canada. You might find this thread useful for alarm systems: http://forum.fongo.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=19236. I don't, typically, try to offer technical assistance for alarm systems. An OBi202 would make more sense than an OBi200 if you plan to use a single FPL account for both your home phone and alarm system. I offer no guarantees that any ATA, even an Obihai, will work with your alarm system.

If your SPA2102 died I have experienced that its in the power adapter more than anything else. I have replaced 2 adapters on Linksys devices over the years and that is what has always failed. Not sure if you want to try another power adapter but usually by the time you buy another power adapter its almost the third of the cost of replacing the adapter when you can sometimes get a new obihai when they are on sale somewhere like Newegg.ca. I see they have a device on sale Obi200 model but now called something different for $69.99.

Polycom has acquired Obihai, and there's no significant difference from the previous OBi200 ATAs, other than the colour of the casing and the Polycom logo.
Newegg Canada does have sales on these ATAs, periodically. $69.99 is the normal (non-sale) pricing for the OBi200, which only has one phone port.
