Huawei HG556a Not able to talk outside FPL network

Post by siwuxie »

Hi,

Please help! I bought an all-in-one gateway (modem, route, ATA) , which is Huawei HG556a. However, after I setup everything accordingly. I can only make and receive phone calls from FPL numbers!

When I dial other lindline or cell phone numbers, people whom I dialed to can only hear one ring with my number indicated on their phone and then the call is diconnected, and in my side I hear the long tone after it got diconnected.

When other lindline or cell phone are trying to reach me, they always hear the busy tone, and in my side there is no ring, no incoming call, nothing!

Here I attached the screenshots of my Huawei HG556a setup.

Please help! Thanks a lot!

I see on p.18 NAT -- Port triggering. Enter 5060-5061 UDP
P.19 DMZ mode. Enable it (in case the latter doesn't work DMZ lets all ports go through).

Many times your trouble are because of port forwarding.

Please keep us posted if it worked or not.

callopsitte_himself, I tried what you suggest. Still the same problem. Anyway, thank you for your help.

I went through your whole pdf this time. I'm far from an expert but maybe what I seem to know can help.

On p. 56 I see:
Expiration duration 3600
Session expires 32000
MWI expires 3600

Maybe those correspond to Register Expire Time and Re-register Interval on my voice modem router and I know on PAP2 also. Usually they are factory set to 360 and 180. Mine are set at 180 and 30.

Try: Expiration duration 180
Session expires 32000 and if still not working also try setting MWI expires 180.
