Time to rejoice folks. I'm back in business!
Well listen to this. My lines were not working for over two weeks, until today. I tried many things but none of them solved the issue. I decided to try a different VoIP adapter and my lines worked. Then I decided to do a factory reset on my PAP2 and re-enter all my freephoneline settings and it worked too! I couldn't believe it. The lesson learned is if having problems, do a factory reset on your adapter first and then go from there. I don't know what the heck happened to my VoIP adapter because several other VoIP providers worked fine when their settings were programmed into it. I'm just glad it's working again with freephoneline. Hallelujah! I apologize for my previous posts. It's just been so frustrating trying to figure out what the heck was going on.
P.S. I just noticed in my profile that I was upgraded from Just Passing Thru to Quiet One. LOL. I don't think I've been very quiet. Annoying, maybe.

Re: Time to rejoice folks. I'm back in business!
Hi,
Glad to hear that it's back to normal. But I think Freephoneline actually changed something to the system that caused our ATAs to freak out.
I also succeeded to fix my problems.
First of all, I think that FPL fixed something that caused ATAs to receive denials when trying to connect and the infamous "this account number doesn't exist" message.
2 days ago, this problem disappeared and my ATA stayed connected all the time. But I had another problem, my phone wasn't ringing when I called my number.
After reading this forum extensively, I found out that FPL added servers and that IP addresses could change. My ATA was configured using a static IP address as proxy server because my DNS server caused problems in the past.
So what I did is reconfigure my ATA to use Google DNS and used voip.fongo.com as proxy server. And voilà ! It's been stable since then.
So, I think fongo screw up the system even though it was still working.
The real problem is total lack of support whatsoever on this forum from FPL staff. Only denial that there is a problem. That's a shame.
I guess it's the price to pay to have a free phone line. So I think you shouldn't apologize.

I was thinking the same thing. I didn't understand how my lines could stop working all of a sudden. Many others were having issues around the same time too so I was convinced it had nothing to do with anything on my end.

Maybe evil elves were busy hacking into people's adapters and screwing up the settings. LOL.
