Hi there,

It could be because of wrong caller ID:

http://support.freephoneline.ca/entries ... -supported

Or:

You have a profile associated with your OBI device on Obi talk website and every time you change settings and reboot device, it will reload Obi profile from the website.

Please check those 2 items.

number not in service recording

Postby lheathl » 08/22/2014

We've been saving for a number of years now with freephoneline without many issues.

Today I just got my new phone with koodo and for one reason or another I cannot call my new phone that we moved or ported from virgin mobile(519402****). When we call we get a recording stating that the number called is not in service(it is most definitely in service). Incidentally we get the same recording when calling from any freephone number, at least my home and another family member who is also saving by using freephoneline. We don't have any issues with incoming or outgoing from anyone else only from freephoneline users which will cause us issues particularly if our children need to reach us while away. Hopefully we can get this resolved asap.

My answering machine doesn't work with freephoneline. After the first call, it won't hang up and you get that annoying "phone off-hook" beeping for about 5 minutes.

Follow-Me, HEY Stop Following me!

Postby Bloodsong » 09/05/2014

I recently received a new phone number to go with my new work location.
Normally I would log in to my console and add this to my follow-me settings.

Today however, it seems someone has this set-up on their account already.
As it gives me no indicator of who owns this account, and to my knowledge does not send the account owner an e-mail or any other sort of notification.

How do I go about getting this removed from someone else's Follow-Me so I can add it to mine?
Or even more important, avoid getting phone calls not intended for me.

You will have to get in touch with them via a support ticket to get the number removed from the other account. This isn't something that can be fixed in the forum unfortunately.

A lot of things don't work

Postby fongo2u » 09/05/2014

Anybody else having problems with their Freephoneline account?
Can't change my address.
Can't get it to ring. (Outgoing is fine.)
Voicemail doesn't come on.
I could go on and on. Wondering if they're ending the service?

I second that!! I'm now not able to use mine as a "follow-me" number. it complaints that someone else is already using the number.
how could FPL allow users to add any number without going through some verification that a number being used as "follow me" is indeed owned by the person?

I have no clue who has been using my number as a "Follow-Me" for their account.

Complaints from international calls to Freephoneline

Postby MAN » 09/08/2014

Hi,

I have issues with international caller. Some of my friends and business partners complained regarding calling to my freephoneline number here in Canada.

They were trying to call from their cellphones to my number 905-285-xxxx, but they always got message saying something like "....cannot call to this number, the number you are calling has a problem... ". The last complaints from them were on 2 Sept 2014 until 4 Sept 2014, and also in August 2014.

It has never have a problem before, when they called me.

One of the number they are calling from is +62-898174xxxx

Can someone please help me solve the problem?

I really appreciate for any helps to solve this issue.

ok, i got it resolved by a support ticket. it is not that somebody was using my number, but rather misunderstanding on how FPL call forwarding currently works (although I'm not pleased to know the way it works...but it is the way they have implemented it) .

so in summary:
when you have your account set as "call simultaneously", it basically auto-forwards to
1- your own number
2- any more numbers you have specified as "forwarding numbers"

since they implemented it that in case of simultaneously ring , they forward to the same number (to simulate calling to same number) in addition to other, you cannot use this number on any other account (as it is already being used as a forwarding number) .

Long Distance

Postby smichael777ca » 09/11/2014

Hi Fongo/FPL. Just got this service a few weeks ago. I live in Markham, Ontario and i've been able to call/receive phone calls with no issue. However, I have one relative in Richmond Hill, Ontario that for some reason is unable to call me without long distance charges. I can call her fine, but when she calls me, phone says it's long distance for her.

Why is that?

can not call some 905 number (long distance)

Postby ctm » 09/12/2014

I dialed 1 + 905, and kept getting message "this is a long distance call, please dial 1 or 0 as well as the number you are calling". I tried 1+, 0+, 01+ 905, when I triled 0+, 01+ the message was "not covered by Telus...". Anyone could give me a hint or how to solve this. Thank you very much.
