Message Waiting Indicator not working...
Re: Message Waiting Indicator not working...
I have the same problem, no VM or Fax and turned the messagewaiting box off only to have it turned on after 5 minutes. This is on a obi200, can support look into this since many are having an issue?
Re: Message Waiting Indicator not working...
That box will turn on or off based on if it's receiving a signal from the server. It's not something you configure.
Re: Message Waiting Indicator not working...
Yes but it was not even after 15 minutes, in the end i resolved it by switching to voip.freephoneline.ca

Re: Message Waiting Indicator not working...
I know what can cause this problem, but I don't know what resolves it.
The problem can occur if you delete voicemail at https://www.freephoneline.ca/mailbox
Possibly doing so causes some account sync bug to occur.
After deleting all voicemail at https://www.freephoneline.ca/mailbox, receiving another voicemail, and then deleting it by dialing *98 or my Freephoneline number, the problem occurs.
Freephoneline's server will eventually send a packet to me, triggering MessageWaiting despite no voicemail being listed at https://www.freephoneline.ca/mailbox
Both times I've experienced this problem over the last two years, the trigger was deleting voicemail at https://www.freephoneline.ca/mailbox
I do have "voicemail to email" set to "copy" at https://www.freephoneline.ca/voicemailSettings (I don't know if that setting has to be enabled in order to reproduce this problem).
I also shut my devices (including router and modem) down for two hours. Changed DNS servers. Changed proxyserver. Nothing helped.

Re: Message Waiting Indicator not working...
I've also been subject to this most annoying problem. Normally I can do a VMWI reset on the phone and it will work. The last time it didn't... it went on for days! So frustrating. I don't know what made me try it, and I don't know if it was just a fluke, but instead of trying to clear the VMWI through an extension, I did it through the phone attached to the main base set, and it worked. I do think that deleting VM off the website may be a factor in this.

Re: Message Waiting Indicator not working...
I'm experiencing the very same issue as detailed by numerous others in this topic. I eagerly signed up with FPL just over a week ago, and porting of my number completed, yesterday. Everything works great except for the message waiting indicator. Even after resetting and power cycling my ATA, and waiting overnight, my phone's dialtone still stutters as if there's a new voicemail message, but there isn't: I've repeatedly checked using *98 and the website.
I'd submit a support request, but the only applicable issue type is "Pay Per Incident Support" -- huh? I have to pay to have FPL fix their server settings for my voicemailbox??
Can any Fongo staff please help?

Re: Message Waiting Indicator not working...
Please note that with Freephoneline, voicemail notification will not trigger until at least 10 minutes after a voicemail is left, and voicemail notification will not disappear until at least 10 minutes afterb3l wrote:Nevermind, it is magically fixed now.
your voicemail is deleted. It’s possible this duration may have been increased to 15 minutes. This wait period has been implemented to help reduce server traffic.
For information on triggering a persistent bug, read my post at http://forum.fongo.com/viewtopic.php?f= ... 531#p72630.
