Free NL cities/towns removed?

Post by mh1983 »

The list seems much smaller than before. :( Did something change recently?

I don't normally look at that page to check cities, especially not in that area, but you are right, it has massively been reduced.

I looked up a Google cached version of the page http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/s ... ling/free/ (it will obviously change in the future) from March 10, 2017.

This was the list from then
B - Bay Roberts, Bell Island, Benoit's Cove, Bishop's Falls, Bonavista, Brigus
C - Carbonear, Catalina, Charlottetown, Clarenville, Corner Brook
D - Deer Lake, Degras
G - Gander, Glenwood, Grand Falls
H - Happy Valley - Goose Bay, Harbour Main, Hickman's Harbour, Hillview
J - Jamestown, Jeffreys
K - King's Cove
L - Lark Harbour, Little Heart's Ease, Long Pond, Lourdes
M - McIvers, Monroe, Musgravetown
N - Newman's Cove, Northwest River
P - Pasadena, Plate Cove, Port Au Port, Port Blandford, Portugal Cove, Pouch Cove, Princeton
S - St. George's, St. John's, Stephenville, Stephenville Crossing, Summerside
U - Upper Island Cove
T - Torbay
W - Witless Bay
I guess whatever access/agreements they had for that area has changed.

Thanks for the reply and the snapshot of an earlier version of the list, Jake! I appreciate it.

It's disappointing to see this list reduced so much. I have family in NL and I was excited to see smaller towns slowly but surely being added. Was hoping to see my wife's home town added so she could call relatives without credits. Given the en masse removal of NL coverage, I assume that's unlikely to happen now in the near term.

Fongo is great at letting us know about new/added functionality, but could improve on notifying us of downgrades/removals.

Happy to report it was a manual error and the site is updated with the previous coverage. :)

Good to hear! No new towns seem to have been added, but at least now those have not been removed.

You should get some sort of finders fee in the form of world credits for spotting this. They could have lost a few customers over the fact there is not so many calling towns in NL. :) Wishful thinking I know, but you never know!
