Dell Voice by Fongo
Could not find the Android app from the Fongo site nor the Android Market. Could hardly wait for it.

OK, I feel a bit silly now
I didn't realise the Fongo site was up and running. I did check, but my ISP must cache, or redirect, the requests to fongo, so I was seeing to old 'launching soon' site.
My ISP BTW is FPL

Re: Dell Voice by Fongo
the playbook is certainly an interesting otion. I have one and would love to use it. I believe they are (our great programming team) trying to make it to work on both devices.

Re: Dell Voice by Fongo
I've purchased a Blackberry Bold 9900 recently because I'd like to support Canadian companies, and I hope Fongo also supports RIM - your neighbor.
Looking for it.
Thanks.

Re: Dell Voice by Fongo
Im able to login with the desktop and android apps, but both are unable to connect to the Fongo servers (I do have the ports forwarded to my PC). This is on Windows 7 as well as the Android app.

Re: Dell Voice by Fongo
These posts were from over 5 years ago, and I don't think they every released a Blackberry app. I remember a lot of talk about trying to port the Android version over to BB, but as far as I know nothing ever came of that. The closest you could get was to run a 3rd party VOIP phone and use an unlocked Freephoneline account on it. From memory I think the app was called Taki but I am sure there has been a lot of changes since then.
Currently the Fongo app is only Android and IOS based.

Re: Dell Voice by Fongo
The Fongo app runs on BlackBerry phones that have OS10 (ex. Q10), not on OS7 or earlier (ex. Bold 9900).
The app for BB10 is merely an Android port, but it is officially posted by Fongo in BlackBerry World (app store). Even through the Android emulation, the app (quite lightweight) works well.
Of course, the Android version will work natively on the more recent Android phones that BlackBerry has been releasing -- Priv, DTEKs, KeyOne...

Re: Dell Voice by Fongo
I still use Taki if I want to use SIP VOIP from my Playbook. I use the Freephoneline SIP settings I purchased. Though it works, it never left the experimental stage, and I have my doubts anything better is going to come out for the pre android Blackberry devices.

Re: Dell Voice by Fongo
Taki's probably as good as it gets for the PlayBook, I agree. Shame that that didn't get more support or an upgrade to BB10, but that's another discussion.
For BB10, a great SIP client is Sip.fm -- free, and a native BB app. Freephoneline credentials work beautifully in it.
I'm not as familiar with BB7, but this client appears in my search (mixed results, likely due to no more development as with the PlayBook):

Re: Dell Voice by Fongo
Possible good news for BB7 users? I haven't confirmed this myself, but wanted to post in case it helps the 9900 user above.
