can I have 2 numbers?

Postby goaliedave » 07/14/2019

newbie question. I just signed up and got a new free 289 number which is great and works fine.

I've also requested to port my KOODO 613 number and wondering how that ends up. Will I have 2 numbers on my account or will Fongo cancel the free one?

On the mobile app how do I know which one is ringing the 289 or the 613?

Finally a longshot: , back when it was dell voice or early fongo days, I signed up likely with a 905 number. Is there a way to find and reactivate that number?

thanks in advance :D :D

Once porting is completed, the 289 number will be replaced on your account with the 613 number. Only one number per account is allowed. You will lose the 289 number.

From the upper left menu, select account. Your Fongo Mobile number will be displayed.

I doubt it.
Your number would have been released back into the pool, and you'd have to hope that number hasn't been assigned to someone else. You'd also need to create a new account using a different email address.
Lastly, I suspect a fee would be involved for you to be given that specific number again.

Yes, however, I'm not sure what Fongo's acceptable use policy is with respect to multiple accounts. For example, it appears as though having multiple accounts may make an account subject to deletion:
https://support.fongo.com/hc/en-us/arti ... ion-Policy (see point #4). I suspect point #4 would only apply to free accounts that haven't had a number ported into them, for example. That is, accounts that are subject to deletion aren't ones where users have paid to have a number ported into Fongo Mobile from another service provider.

Also, given that you can only sign into a single Fongo Mobile account at any given time, only the number associated with the account you're logged into will work. That matters for outgoing caller ID. For incoming calls, it may be possible to forward calls (Follow Me) to one number to the Fongo Mobile number for the account you're signed into, depending on the Fongo Mobile forwarding restrictions (at one time, Freephoneline and Fongo Mobile users weren't allowed to forward calls to other Freephoneline and Fongo Mobile numbers due to abuse, but that restriction appears to be currently lifted). Otherwise, incoming calls will also only work for the account you're logged into as well.

awesome, thanks for the helpful info. I was hoping for otherwise but, if I want a second number I will look elsewhere. I'll be very happy to just use fongo with my ported number. I'm going to add the texting but will wait until my number is ported over.
