Re: Fast Busy on call answer
FPL service is working perfectly for myself and my neighbour, once all the configuration issues were worked out in our routers and ATA's. Thanks for all the help and advice. I did read alot of negative press about Xplornet before moving to them...but when you live where we do what choices do you hav...

Re: Fast Busy on call answer
Rants are fine. I've had a few of my own. Xplornet is the 2nd provider I've had the pleasure of using out in the "sticks". They are the better of the two by far. My ip address has not changed since I connected with them a year and a half ago. Speed is pretty consistent too. Neflix, skype a...

Re: Fast Busy on call answer
I have a Linksys WRT54GL v1.0/v1.1 flashed with dd-wrt.v24_voip_generic.bin. I've been contemplating moving to it. What are your thoughts/advice.
I am connected via Xplornet WiFi with no access to the modem.

Re: Fast Busy on call answer
Thanks for you reply. Both suggestions are implemented. The DIR-655 is at Firmware Version :1.37NA, 2013/06/06. I installed the SPA112 on the recommendation of one of your tech support people when dealing with an issue a few days ago. All is working very well for 2 days now. This is the best since p...

Fast Busy on call answer
Occasionally I get an incoming call that rings and displays caller id but when I answer I hear a fast busy. The calling party hears the ring but also gets a fast busy when I answer. Whats up? Appears to be random.

Re: Feedback on technical support
Ditto to the last comment. These guys are knowledgeable, courteous and responsive. They went out of their way to get me up and running, unlike the "not my problem" attitude of me former provider. Thanks a bunch guys. I am already recommending your service to my friends!

Re: Is there a problem with service today?
Powered off ATA for 10 minutes, reconnected power, waited 5 minutes, no change. Still get fast busy when anything dialled. Incoming calls still work fine.

Re: Is there a problem with service today?
I'm in Kingston. Incoming calls work fine. Out calls go directly to fast busy, including 898 dialing to voicemail. Worked fine until I recieved an email stating my land line would be ported on Mar 23 (tomorrow). Are these related?

My sister-in-law lives in MacKenzie, BC., which is not on the free city list. What will it cost me to call her?

Re: Porting my land-line phone number
Thanks for the fast reply Jake.
Since my ported number will replace my FPL number, will I need to change the SIP User ID or Authenticate ID in the ATA?
Will I need to change anything about my Login to my FPL account?
Again, thanks for all your help and advice.

Porting my land-line phone number
I presently subscribe to a land-line based telephone service provider. I also have an active account with FreePhoneLine.ca. To gain confidence and work out the bugs in my ATA configuration (HT502), I "call forwarded" the land-line service to my FreePhoneLine number. All has been working bu...

Re: Voicemail
Further to my original post: *98 gets me connected to my voicemail box and I hear the voice, "you have 1 new message, listen to voice messages press 1.....". I can press 1 all day and get no response. "Personal options, press 3" and "Exit press *" do not work either. If...

Lon Distance Plan
I have just installed and configured a HT-502. It works great.
I am subscribed to a 3 cent per minute long distance plan for North American. I've ported my Bell number to the new FPL service. Is this plan still needed, i.e., will this plan be used by my new FPL?

Voicemail
I have just installed a HT-502. The device works great. When I get notification of a voicemail via email I see the phone line light on the unit blinking as it should and get an intermittent dial tone as expected. I can listen to the voicemail on my computer using an MP3 player. All is wonderful....e...
