I will leave this thread open for discussion. Please remain civil. Also please keep in mind that I'm just the messenger. I'm not an employee, and I happen to use Freephoneline (I'm a VoIP unlock key customer) too. Thank you.

Re: Switching ATA devices with Freephoneline
By the way, the OBi2xx and OBi3xx ATA series are now discontinued. The replacement is the Poly 4xx ATA series, which doesn't support consumer Google Voice. One difference is Poly 4xx supports the G.722 audio codec, but Freephoneline doesn't anyway. Poly owns Obihai, and HP owns Poly. https://www.hp....

Re: Switching ATA devices with Freephoneline
I wanted to switch my ATA device from the HT-802 to the Obi200. Just wondering how I would go about doing that. 1) Unplug the HT-802, and don't use it. When there are multiple devices/softphones/SPs (on an ATA/IP Phone) using the same FPL account, only the most recent registration is valid. The pre...

Re: Fongo invoice
A long time ago, Freephoneline used to have a field called "correspondence email", which no longer exists. Chances are it was the same email address used to purchase a VoIP unlock key originally. Invoices were being sent to the old "correspondence email" address, even if that ema...

Re: Fongo invoice
That's entirely up to you. All paid residential customers will be getting monthly invoices. It's possible someone else may receive additional information that I did not, but I doubt it. I would be more inclined to submit a ticket if my bill isn't $0 and/or if I needed clarification for something tha...

I’m told VoIP unlock key customers will be receiving monthly invoices going forward, in order to also receive required regulatory information.

Re: VoIP Unlock Key - flagged for deletion due to inactivity
Well, I guess, on the other hand, keeping accounts active must cost them money somehow, but as a customer, I definitely don't like this sudden twist.
Anyway, I made outbound calls on all of my accounts today.

Re: VoIP Unlock Key - stopped working...
I was also quite shocked when I got the email even though this is a number that I really haven't used in years. Yes, I would have been stunned and then angry in all honesty. If they do actually start deleting the accounts, then I hope they also refund what people paid for the config files/unlock ke...

Re: VoIP Unlock Key - stopped working...
I got that email on one of my accounts also. Wow, I find this to be pretty shocking, as someone who has purchased VoIP unlock keys. I've let two of my keys remain relatively dormant. Years ago I basically bought extra keys and let them lay dormant (they typically receive incoming calls occasionally...

Re: VoIP Unlock Key - stopped working...
More than 10 years ago I paid for VoIP Unlock Key; then setup and used the key successfully on Asterisk for several years; but have not used it recently. This week, I received an email with "We see that you haven't been active for a while. In 5 days, your account may be flagged for deletion.&q...

Re: Grandstream HT801 dead?
You will be charged for another ATA if it's defective. Service providers generally aren't responsible for devices that aren't being rented. While I've never owned a Grandstream ATA, in general the power adapters for ATAs are often susceptible to electrical surges, power outages, and electrical issue...

Re: Receiving\Incoming call issue
Fongo Support stated that they escalated the issue on the weekend. I wonder if it was a routing issue so Fibernetics got the scalation ticket [?]. Since I don't work for Fongo, I have no way of knowing, unfortunately. I could speculate about an interconnect carrier issue, but I really have no relev...

Re: Receiving\Incoming call issue
March 13 - Received email that they can't find an issue and it has to be with the incoming provider "We checked your call logs to confirm the sample calls, and we were unable to locate it. This indicates that the call did not even hit our servers . With Freephoneline, if the call isn't answere...

Re: Receiving\Incoming call issue
Is anyone else having the same problem or similar issues with receiving calls? Although I'm not a Fongo Home Phone customer, I think it's reasonable to believe these forums would be flooded with complaints if this were an issue affecting everyone. My Freephoneline numbers are not affected. Incoming...

Re: HT801 ATA reliability
I don't have a Grandstream ATA. However, in general the power adapters for ATAs are often susceptible to electrical surges, power outages, and storms. If you have another compatible power adapter available, you might want to try it just to see if your ATA still works. I have a whole house surge prot...

Re: I have a problem with my line and I touched nothing
On March 13th, before 12 p.m. EST, voip.freephoneline.ca wasn't working properly. All incoming calls, when using that server, were going to straight to voicemail. The March 13th issue is now resolved. I suggest switching to voip4.freephoneline.ca:6060 NAT corruption can also develop between a router...

Incoming calls on affected FPL numbers are going straight to voicemail.
Use voip2.freephoneline.ca or voip4.freephoneline.ca:6060 until the problem is resolved, please.
I've contacted someone at Fongo.
