Re: OutboundCallRoute for city of Ottawa "311" service

Liptonbrisk: I wrote too soon! This morning when I made a call as normal, now there is that 484 error msg! Other than the 311 number, any other numbers calling out did not work. It's Monday back to work, I have no time to play around but restoring my previous settings, prior to the 311 mod. In fact,...

Re: OutboundCallRoute for city of Ottawa "311" service

This works for me. Add these entries in the OBiTalk web portal if that's what you've been using in the past: a. Physical Interfaces->Phone Port-->DigitMap |311| b. Service Providers-->ITSP Profile A--> General-->Digitmap |<311:6135802400>| I tried your suggestions with enthusiasm. At first, it did ...

Re: OutboundCallRoute for city of Ottawa "311" service

What did your call history say for your test call? The log did not record the 311 calls, as expected (they were denied) Edit to add: I just tried this as the first sequence of my PHONE Port OutboundCallRoute and it did work. I don't know enough about the priority, would not leave 311 as the first s...

Does that work?

I edited this post because parentheses may be required.
I tried that, still no joy! Something still missing, but thanks for your help!

OutboundCallRoute for city of Ottawa "311" service

Recently I have the need to call the City services, in Ottawa it is 311 (parents' place got water pipe frozen). This is no problem with landline, however with VoIP it may needs some setting up? I copied the syntax for 911, which is {911:sp1}, as FPL is sp1 in my Obi110, changed to {311:sp1} and adde...

Re: FPL mechanism to authenticate a caller ID, if any?

Strictly speaking, landlines, cell phones, and VoIP all use the PSTN, although that is not really relevant to your question. I wanted to know if it is true that CID spoofing is mostly happened in VoIP phones, not landlines, as claimed in the paper provided in my previous post. However, when I re-ch...

FPL mechanism to authenticate a caller ID, if any?

I am wondering that as a SP, does FPL attempt to authenticate a caller ID associated to a registered phone #? I am curious as I learned more about VoIP, it is "alleged" that it's easier for VoIP phone (vs traditional landline) to be CID spoofed in this study: http://www.cse.sc.edu/~mustafa...

Re: Bell and Telus incoming calls are fast busy

Thanks Mango for your quick reply, I just tried to call 1-289-850-1573 and I get the same fast busy... So does the mean that this is a Telus routing issue? Again this only started happening a couple weeks ago. We've been a FPL customer for over 5 years... Can someone with a Bell line do a test to t...

Re: voicemail indicator

I have uncheck the box MWIEnable and X_VMWIEnable. However, should I also uncheck the default box? I think the default box is still check Did you mention you have an OBi100? If so, it does not seem to jive with your Service Provider setup, when your attachment shows 4 MaxSessions and 2 sets of MWIE...

Re: Message Waiting Indicator not working...

Does anyone have the mwi setup working on their obihai device or is it hopeless? Yes, MWI works with OBi ATAs and Freephoneline without any problems. If you're coming from a regular home phone experience and expecting MWI to immediately trigger after a message is left or immediately be disabled aft...

Re: Freephoneline - $50.00* - things you need to know

I'd say the "free dry loop" is a marketing scheme, as it is buried under the so-called "bundle saving". As a (Bell/Rogers) customer starts cutting one service, e.g. landline, the Internet premium goes up by $10, $15 already. Similarly, Primus Internet package would be marketed th...

Re: Freephoneline - $50.00* - things you need to know

You now have no land-line after you transferred your current phone number? A. What to do now? Usually your current ISP (Internet Service Provider) if your using DSL or VDSL will put you on a Dry Loop service "approx $10 ea month depending on the distance you are from the switching center"...

@Liptonbrisk: No need to apologize, as all feedback, comments are appreciated! Re: Problems configuring OBi110 to work with FPL

I tried a few more things and should say that the setup is working, except I don't know for sure if e911 would be working if exercised, given the OBiTALK possessive DigitMap. I actually removed the OBi110 device from OBiTALK by performing a Factory Reset, reconfigured it with FPL's recommended Guide...

Problems configuring OBi110 to work with FPL

Hi all, I am new to VoIP, after some researching online decided on the OBi ATA, specifically the 110 model. I purchased the VoIP Unlock Key, started configuring the device for use with FPL (for obvious reasons :) ). Using the FPL "Updated OBi100 Guide" just get the device to enable inbound...
