Re: email from Fongo to upgrade

Thanks Liptonbrisk. My FPL service works very well. The only issue I have had in the past few years was when a Bell line did not disconnect correctly rendering my line to be blocked/busy for 3-4 hrs ... several other FPL users were also affected during this 12+hr issue, of which there was no officia...

email from Fongo to upgrade

Hi,

I just received an email from Fongo requesting me to switch to Fongo Home Phone.
Reasons: my FreePhoneLine Service is getting old ..., my adaptor's technology is outdated, FPL platform is no longer updated, support for FPL is no longer available (was it ever?).

What should I/we do?

While I was trying to place a call, the system voice is telling me "you reached the limit for the simultaneous call", then disconnect me, the thing is that there are no other calls that are active. Tried everything to fix it, including disable call forwarding, unplug, and cisco VoIP adapt...

Message waiting indicator problem

I signed up a friend with Fongo Home Phone last month. Porting the old number and setup went smoothly. However, the HT-801 keeps signaling (the blue phone icon flashes slowly) that Fongo has a voice message. A message did exist, but it was retrieved and deleted. Now the HT-801 keeps indicating to al...

Day FIVE trying to get FPL to work correctly on my hardware THAT WORK PERFECTLY with two other VoIP providers... >Liptonbrisk wrote "10 minutes seems crazy high to me. Are you sure that's not seconds?" It is minutes. I did some more research: "UDP Unreplied Timeout" and "UDP...

Re: can't hear other side voice when make call or receive ca

Thanks again Liptonbrisk, I still have NetTalk disconnected, but have TekTalk actived again on the HT502 as well. I have removed the port forwarding in the firewall. Incoming calls to FPL continue to have 2 way audio. Hurray! I don't know what Fongo does when asked to do a "forced registration&...

Re: can't hear other side voice when make call or receive ca

Thanks Liptonbrisk for your reply. I did mention in my initial post that I was using UNIQUE port numbers for both SIP and RTP, so port conflicts should not be an issue. Since I do not know what NetTalk uses, I disconnected that VoIP service. The firewall indicated its NAT Session was using TCP, not ...

Re: can't hear other side voice when make call or receive ca

I currently have 2 voip systems running AOK which are plugged into the network jacks of the 2wire HG2701HG-G; NetTalk with its proprietary box, and TekTalk Home Phone using a HT502 ATA. Both systems work fine without any port forwarding required in the router's firewall. I am new to freephoneline.ca...
