Re: which VoIP ATA device do you suggest?
Hard to say why you had issues with DD-WRT, I have never had more stable firmware. I wonder if your WRT54G did not have enough memory? Linksys did some royal hatchet jobs on quite a few of the WRT54G routers. In any case, whatever router you get, make sure it can be flashed to DD-WRT. I am not sayi...

Re: which VoIP ATA device do you suggest?
112 no router, 122 router function. No matter what you get I'd use proper router as built in routing performance is not that good. And which proper router would you suggest in this situation? I'm using my trusty 'ol Linksys WRT54G router (it's been standing for 6 years old now). I briefly experimen...

Re: which VoIP ATA device do you suggest?
For Music on Hold options you'd likely have to be running Asterisk, Freeswitch, 3CX Server, etc. As for the ringtones, I don't remember where I found it, but there are some programs out there to make the conversions. I had the Final Fantasy 3 battle theme as my ring-tone at work for some time. What...

Re: 99cent/month in 2012.
If you pay for the CONFIG file, you can use any 3rd party softphone software, or your own ATA, both of which will eliminate this software shortcoming. When I went into my administrative options on ordering some extra services for my Freephoneline service, I only see the SIP file option and not the ...

Re: which VoIP ATA device do you suggest?
I wonder if its possible to get a standalone VOIP phone (i.e. Grandstream GXP280 or a Polycom phone) and configure it using the SIP file that I bought from you guys? Do you know any devices out there that don't rely on an ATA or such? For example, I'm looking for a device that has two phone ports an...

Re: which wireless router do you suggest for good VoIP suppo
Thanks for your suggestions. I found out that my router version for my WRT54G is version 6. That router only has a limited amount of RAM (about 8MB) along with flash memory (about 2MB for the particular version of my router). I'm currently pursuing options on getting the WRT54G L . The "L"...

Re: which wireless router do you suggest for good VoIP suppo
The one that we offer (and that i would suggest) is if your ISP allows you to have your own modem, would be to get the Thomson TG784. It is a modem with build in wireless network and has two SIP phone jacks on it. It would allow you to program multiple numbers in it. (this is the modem we offer wit...

Re: which wireless router do you suggest for good VoIP suppo
The D-link DIR-655 is not a good router when it comes to SIP VOIP. It cannot even be flashed to DD-WRT. (I am not sure why the VX-Works firmware was better for you, certainly was not to me). A Cisco E2000 is a better choice. The firmware is decent. Chipset is well known to developers also. As for t...

which wireless router do you suggest for good VoIP support?
Hey guys, I currently have a Linksys WRT54G wireless router for about 5 years now and I was considering to a completely new wireless router - for good VoIP support and for QoS. I've once flashed my WRT54G wireless router with the DD-WRT firmware, but the firmware had failed to do its purpose - even ...

Re: Anyone uses Public Mobile? Experiences between PM and FP
Hi sncbhle18, There should be any issues in dialing our phone numbers from another provider. We do not block any other providers TN's from being able to reach our customers. In regards to porting a number out of Freephoneline, it would work the same way as with any provider. When you sign up with t...

Re: which VoIP ATA device do you suggest?
The Grandstream HT286 that Freephoneline sells is pretty good. It's only real fault is that it is rather basic. I feel that would suit your needs rather well though. I am partial to the Grandstream HT502. It has lots of bells and whistles, which is nice. As for faxing, no one can guarantee reliable...

Re: Install Softphone in my android?
I don't think you can, pay for configuration file and use voip app. A VOIP app that I would recommend personally is either Viber, 3CX or any of the following: http://www.voipvoip.com/android/ I haven't tried it myself since I don't have an Android smartphone, but I hope this helps. Other resources:...

Re: issues with FPL softphone
Have you updated to the latest version of Java? I've noticed that the 'disconnect call' issue tends to be something to do with Java. I had this occur and uninstalled FPL softphone & Java. Installed the latest version of Java first, then the FPL softphone, and haven't had the issue since. Some o...

which VoIP ATA device do you suggest?
Hey guys, I've been using the Freephoneline service for some time now - well for the softphone side of it and now I'm considering getting a dedicated ATA device, so that way - I could use the FPL service as a secondary phone line or maybe as a fax machine. I have the Epson Workforce 520 all-in-one d...

Re: intermittent audio when calling out
I was wondering if I need to set up a static IP for my computer to use the Freephoneline softphone? I've upgraded to DD-WRT for my WRT54G router and I've opened the ports - but the results were likely the same. Here's a run down of my opened ports: 5060-5061 (both TCP/UDP) 6060-6061 (UDP) 13000-1300...

Re: intermittent audio when calling out
I have a similar issue to this one, but instead of using an ATA device (which I'm planning to get in the near future), I'm using the softphone (software programme). My setup is very similar, but I use the Linksys WRT54G v6 router with firmware v1.02.8 on it. Sometimes, the audio is sped up and I oft...

issues with FPL softphone
I've recently (and currently) doing a test run with the Freephoneline service and the other day, whenever I'm in a middle of a call, the audio can sometimes be choppy. another issue that I have is that some of the calls tend to speed up by itself (such as the voice prompts, etc.). I also can't disco...

did not receive registration e-mail
Hey guys, I'm an FPL n00b and I always want to try the service. I've registered today and promised that an account activation e-mail is being sent to me. I've waited, and waited - but to no avail. I've tried changing my e-mail address to send the activation e-mail, but all with no luck. I believe th...
