DID and Caller ID changes?
Hi, Last Thursday my Fongo line started having an issue. People calling me were getting a recording stating my number was not in service. I'm using Asterisk in my house. Asterisk uses the DID that is sent by the voip provider so that it knows how to proceed with the incoming call. Checking through t...

Re: Possible service interruption for some users Dec 19th, 2
The problem appears to be FPL forcing a huge delay for the registration limit. Even if you set it to 3600, FPL is overriding it on their end to 7200 every time. The values I put into my PBX are ignored. Whether I choose 300, 600 1200, 3600 - FPL is demanding 7200 and that is way too long of a re-reg...

Re: Disconnected and long registration times
Oh ok. That explains it. I just checked again and I'm seeing this: sip.fongo.com:5060 N 7185 Request Sent Fri, 21 Dec 2012 19:48:55 7185 is actually 7200 - an extremely long registration delay. When I check the status I get: Name/username Host Dyn Forcerport ACL Port Status Fongo 208.65.240.44 N 506...

Disconnected and long registration times
Has anyone else been experiencing longer than normal registration expiry lately? For the past 3 days, mine is set at 7185. It used to be 285. Also, I've been losing service all together off and on. Right now my line is disconnected. I cannot make or take calls. I have another voip service that's wor...

Can't hear caller when they call
I have been noticing this too on my line. I'm connected to a home PBX which automatically rings my work phone and home phone when a call comes in during work hours. I used to be able to hear on my work phone, but the last 4 calls I tried to answer at work resulted in dead silence. Often this is a NA...

Re: Connection Lag
I cannot have a non-working phone service. For a solid month it's been bouncing up and down every 5 minutes and this goes on 24/7. During my test phase I had zero issues, and I monitored the logs daily. As far as support goes, the issues are obviously not with my Asterisk server. I've even hooked up...

Re: Connection Lag
Well I'm certainly glad to see I am not the only one getting horrible service. I just joined at the wrong time. I was hesitant to joining and when I did it was on trial before I bought into the services and paid close to $100 in total including taxes for the FREE service. Since then, I can no longer...

Re: Connection Lag
You're right! This has been happening since April - non-stop, and the tech support is absolutely useless. This Fongo system is virtually unusable. Looking at my log just now I'm seeing: [2012-05-25 05:56:55] NOTICE[3780] chan_sip.c: Peer 'FreePhone' is now UNREACHABLE! Last qualify: 33 [2012-05-25 0...

Re: Connection Lag
Has anybody else been having this issue (as posted above)? It's really really bad. Every 10 minutes the connection becomes unreachable. I have a high quality internet connection and no issues like this with my other voip provider. I have a hunch FreePhoneLine is doing this deliberately because it al...

Re: Connection Lag
I am not new to VoIP. I started using voip in 2004 and currently have an Asterisk server dedicated to voip in my house. My CPU on my asterisk server is running anywhere from 0% to 1% and I'm connected to another VoIP company with zero issues in regards to lagging. I haven't changed anything on my en...

Connection Lag
For the past couple of weeks I'm noticing FreePhoneLine popping in and out of service several times per day. It's always due to excessive delay in reaching the FreePhoneLine server. Most of the time my pings are 30 to 35 ms. Several times a day it jumps up to 3,000 ms and connectIon is lost. I've be...

Re: Call Logs Sorting Order Wrong
One thing that would be good is if the call logs displayed the CNAM. Sometimes I'm not familiar with whose number is showing - the name would be quite helpful.

Re: Is there a problem with service today?
Oh good. This morning I was able to call Ottawa, but non of my Halifax numbers would work. They are working now. This is the first time for me to experience downtime with this service.

Re: Additional cities?
Thanks TheHardy. I did complain about it directly to FreePhoneLine customer service on the day I noticed I could no longer call 1-902-860-xxxx numbers. It was some time in December. The response I was given was Halifax was not on the list of free calling areas, and that was the end of it. I saw it o...

Re: Additional cities?
It's true that the website does not even state that Halifax is a free area, but I tried the software and called Halifax and it was toll free. After a few days I bought the credentials so I could use a corded phone instead of the computer because the sound quality was terrible over my computer. The W...

Re: Additional cities?
Thanks for the update TheHardy. I did see Steve's comment where there's mention of only the city of Halifax is included. I guess he means what was known as the "old" city of Halifax. The Waverley Rd and even beyond that are part of the city of Halifax. I noticed Timberlea (1-902-876-xxxx) ...

Re: Additional cities?
It sure would be nice. I'm on a very low budget and haven't been calling my mom at all lately. It was so nice to call her for a few minutes each week. She calls me, but she can't afford long distance either. I had free calling for months, and it all stopped a month ago with the message, "Your a...

Re: Additional cities?
I have been using Freephoneline to call my mom who lives in Halifax. Recently (about a month ago) it stopped working. It's no longer seen as a free call. If I call areas of Halifax that were the original (old) Halifax area, the call goes through. It seems not all of the Halifax Regional Municipality...
