They cannot. FPL will reject the call. It's been discussed before. Use the search.

Re: Online purchases and account balance!

Bucharest is a very expensive place to terminate to and 10C/min is correct. Most other carriers range from 7C-49C/min to this region. I have put in a tip to see if we can find reliable carrier that would be a couple cents lower, but we also don't want to sacrifice reliability for cost. It's easier ...

Re: Incoming calls do not work!!

Of those Grandstream devices, you mention that it works out of the box, but is that using UPnP? Because if you have UPnP turned off (for better security) then I'm wondering how the grandstream works without port forwarding. I have UPnP turned off in my router. I have a PAP2, SPA 941 & a Globara...

Re: Help: make 2 phones ring with same number on same network

In goes into 'custom dial patterns".

Actually do this:
In 'custom dial patterns" of your outbound route add:

1XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX
98
911

And in the 'Dial Rules' of your trunk add this:

1XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX
911
*+98

Then you would dial 98 for FPL VM.
Let me know if it works.

Re: Help: make 2 phones ring with same number on same network

Then do this trick:
In your outbound route add:
98|*98
Also make sure your FPL trunk has:
*98
in it.

Then dial 98*98 to get to your FPL VM.

Re: switched from Acanac to Cogeco, need help with ATA

Your problem is most likely that new DNS settings didn't propagate in your ATA properly. Do what OverDrive said and let us know.

If it still does not work, pick up the phone and dial ****. Do you get into the configuration menu?

Re: Help: make 2 phones ring with same number on same network

OK> there you go. In:
General Settings > Extension prefix for dialing direct to voicemail > [*]

Can you change that prefix to something else, like [**] or [*9]?

Then make sure you have *98 in your dial plan for your FPL trunk and the outbound route.

Re: Tried everything. No incoming.

ATA cannot do PPoE, so you are ALWAYS using the router. Either Belkin or the one built in the modem. I had the same problem with another provider. Tried Pbxes, my home asterisk server and an ATA. No incoming anywhere, outgoing worked fine. So I gave up on it and left it registered on the ATA for out...

You need to disable *98 feature in Pbxes. Look for it in feature settings.

FPL voicemail cannot be disabled laurent.

Re: Tried everything. No incoming.

Why not set your modem to dial in, then try using belkin as a switch (disable DHCP).

True, unless you are on cable with 256Kb upload. Having G729 support then comes in handy.

I think they did it on purpose to discourage people using asterisk and abusing the service. And rest of us using it for residential purposes got shafted in the middle.

Why are you forwarding 6060/6061 to your PAP2? Those ports are used by the softphone not the ATA (though they work).

Can you friend get incoming calls?

Otherwise the voice quality and clarity is fantastic. I tried disabling the QoS but again no avail. Would it be possible ...
