Re: $1.95 per month 911 fee for VoIP unlock key users

Thanks, Liptonbrisk, but I was actually thinking of the whole agreement, especially any parts pertaining to payment or the free-for-life nature of Freephoneline. Do you have a link for that? http://web.archive.org/web/20111109234449/http://www.freephoneline.ca/optionalServices Activating your freep...

Re: $1.95 per month 911 fee for VoIP unlock key users

I just received an email with this in it. We want to inform you of an upcoming adjustment related to your FreePhoneLine service. Due to the unexpected rise in inflationary costs effecting our upstream service providers, new fees have been imposed on us related to 911 emergency services. In order to ...

* none of my numbers will be deactivated or deleted Just to add my experience with this. Your number could be suspended (NOT deleted). I have a number I had not used for a long time and I got an email stating that it might be deleted. I have the config file so I knew that wouldn't be the case, but ...

Re: Freephoneline Desktop Application will be discontinued on June 3, 2025

This is certainly a move. I would be interested in how many people still use the desktop app. They are giving plenty of notice, but only if you happen to see the posts here or in the panel. They should send emails out to everyone so those who do still use it can get organised. I guess they will have...

Re: VoIP Unlock Key - stopped working...

I agree Liptonbrisk. I was also quite shocked when I got the email even though this is a number that I really haven't used in years. I fail to see what suspending the account is going to accomplish, but there you go. If they do actually start deleting the accounts, then I hope they also refund what ...

Re: freephonrline folow me

I believe they did this to stop people from setting up "call center" like systems. However, depending on what you are using the numbers for, what you can try is daisy chaining the numbers, with the last one pointing at your cell. So, #1 forwards to #2, which forwards to #3 ...... which for...

I edited out the phone numbers as they won't really help in fixing your issue, and this is a public forum. Maybe those numbers are public already, but it's better to be safe from the scanners. :) Unfortunately, Fongo staff don't really come here very often. It is mainly manned by Community Mods like...

Re: Can I get sms to my actual phone with Fongo Wireless Si

Fongo Wireless is basically just a data plan. You don't get any numbers with it directly, just the use of data over the Rogers wireless network.

To make calls and send text messages, you can use the Fongo Mobile app. You can do this without having Fongo Wireless however.

Re: which Fongo should i buy to use in canada US and india

You can use Fongo Mobile for free, then when you want to do things like text and call, you buy add-ons. I'm not completely clear on how you want to use the app, but I will try and explain how it could work: 1. All incoming calls and texts are free, no matter where they come from. Texts from shortcod...

Apart from trying all possible emails you used to have on their Forgot Password page - https://www.freephoneline.ca/forgottenPassword - you will probably have to send them in a support ticket and work with them directly. https://support.fongo.com/hc/en-us/requests/new As a forum moderator, we have n...

Re: Using Fongo Mobile while Traveling

Please don't rely on Fongo for short codes. For me they are all over the place. Sometimes I have got codes through without a plan, other times I have had to buy a text plan because I needed to get a code that eventually came through. Other times I have not received codes even though I had a text pla...

Re: Using Fongo Mobile while Traveling

Where you actually use the app doesn't matter geographically. You could be in Canada, India, or Australia; and it will all work exactly the same (as long as you can connect to the Fongo server and not being blocked by whatever connection you are using) 1. You can always receive text messages for fre...

That sounds like they are trying to get you to sign up for Home Phone, which is $4.95 a month https://www.fongo.com/services/fongo-home-phone/ This guide is old (and isn't for your model), but it might help you configure your phone https://forum.fongo.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=10782&p=54488&a...

The DATA will give you the same as being connected to a home WiFi. It's essentially internet out and about. The wireless plan will not allow you to text through the native texting app either. Essentially calling and texting is done through the Fongo Mobile app. The Fongo Mobile app gives you a telep...

Re: New Account- New Sim Card- New Phone - No In/Out Calling

The Fongo Wireless plans are DATA only. they do not include any call minutes which is why you are getting that error when you try and make a call. You need to install the Fongo Mobile app and make calls through that. https://www.fongo.com/services/fongo-mobile/ If you are getting data on your phone,...

Re: Fongo in the US, communication to Canada

If the other person is also using Fongo, then texting their Fongo number is free. Without a text plan, you cannot send any text messages to any non-Fongo number/app. It essentially becomes a messaging app without a text plan. The above applies to the free version or the World version. All incoming t...

Re: Fongo in the US, communication to Canada

1. If you want to text a Canadian Number, you will want the Canadian Texting plan. 2. If you have a texting plan (any texting plan) you have a chance of getting verification codes through. They make no promises though - https://support.fongo.com/hc/en-us/articles/212434926-Activation-authentication-...

I just updated my iOS device to 2023.7.0 and I don't see that message.
