Re: Where to Sign Up (Freephoneline or Fongo)
Or does the fact that the config file being bought from DellVoice null any restrictions from Apple? I wouldn't say it nulls anything, however the restrictions are more so software related (desktop and mobile), which do not extend to customers who purchase SIP configuration and are using it on an AT...

Re: SMS suggestion
TTS is from the sending carrier, if I were to send a text message to my Dell Voice number (or Bell Canada number at home for that matter) my cell would use my carriers (Bell Mobility) 'Text to Landline Service' it provides to relay the message. If the phone is picked up, you will hear the message an...

Re: Where to Sign Up (Freephoneline or Fongo)
I'm not one to infer Apple's position, however Fongo's is that if you purchase the SIP config file you are not limited to where you use it with an analog telephone adapter / IP phone; the restriction is purely software.

Re: Number porting process
After the porting is completed, some carriers will terminate the phone services however we do request users call and ask about this themselves so they don't get any surprise bills down the road. Unfortunately, when the previously mentioned point does not happen we are unable to cancel the phone serv...

Re: Other options for long distance calling?
Your long distance calls would be restricted to our own vouchers, yes. The vouchers never (ever, ever, ever) expire, as we try to provide the most competitive rates possible they are for the most part considerably lower than our competitors. If you find a lower rate we are of course open to you poin...

Re: How do you use this app on the road?
One thing Skype does differently is route all their traffic through common HTTP ports (80), which generally remain unblocked wherever you go. We use common SIP ports which unlike port 80 are blocked in many public areas such as airports and hotels. As for the Linux client, there are quite a number o...

Re: [resolved] I can not use my old FPL account at DellVoice
The $25.00 is correct, and no it does not matter which email address is associated with the Fongo account when you are porting to Dell Voice as we are porting the number over and not the account (ie any vouchers you've got on the account you are porting over will be removed and need to be repurchase...

Re: Delay when placing a phone call
I have a 3102 and the delay should not be quite that long even without the S0 unless you have the delay set that long. The default Interdigit_Long_Timer default is 10 seconds but if a dialed candidate matches a dialplan item already then the Short_Timer applies and the default setting on that is 3 ...

Re: Delay when placing a phone call
Hi Kris, I already have what you mentioned, please take a look (*xx|[3469]11|0|00|[2-9]xxxxxx|1xxx[2-9]xxxxxxS0|xxxxxxxxxxxx.) Have you tried using the dial string recommended for Linksys / Sipura devices in our device configuration section? It doesn't look like you've got any special settings in t...

Re: Delay when placing a phone call
Try locating the 1xxxxxxxxxx in your dial string and add an 'S0' (Zero, not the letter "O"). This causes the number to be dialled immediately after pressing that last digit.
If you cannot, post the dial string here and I can take a look.

Re: Installing Android App on a overseas phone
This would likely be a restriction of the Android market, similar to the Apple store and trying to download things only available to US customers (due to Canadian copyrights etc..). With the India SIM his locale with Google would be set up as India and our app being restricted to Canada, would not w...

Re: Android app stops running in background
Our developers browse the forums for that specific purpose actually.
What I meant was when Android itself asks you to send crash and bug reports when something happens ("com.fongo.dellvoice has close unexpectedly!" or similar), those go directly to our development team.

Re: Android app stops running in background
Of course, Fongo and Dell Voice do not endorse the use of customized ROM's or any other applications to make the product work, it is simply a reality that some people do. The premise is, if you are able to install it from the market, it will work.

If both parties have Dell Voice it is free to call in between them. The benefit as you said would be if a relative or friend who did not have Dell Voice wanted to call you without dialing long distance.

I am going to redirect you here http://forum.fongo.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=4116 specifically to Steves' post regarding the updates.
Unfortunately, there is no immediate fix I am able to give for resolution issues outside of reinstalling the application until further updates come out.

Kris also said that his phone was heavily modded and that users with stock Android phones don't have that option. That is exactly correct dickduff. Just because I have the ability to do that and it works does not necessarily mean it is the answer, the fact that I have to do that is an indication of...

jqian, your issue seems to have only been happening for less than a day, have you called into support to request further troubleshooting? Hiccups for the most part can be resolved in short order. Try adjusting the 'jitter buffer level' on your ATA to compensate for fluctuations in your network or an...

On my Galaxy S2, the blue icon in the notification bar indicates that I am "Connected to Fongo...", if the app isn't working when "Connected to Fongo..." it would suggest that might be the case. Since I'm clearly no expert on China's telecommunication practices however, it's just...
