Porting my FHP number to Worldline

Please be advised that I have made arrangements to port my Fongo Home Phone number to Worldline. They will request you to release this number to them. Please DO NOT cancel my Home Phone account until it the number is ported. I am a happy Fongo user and will retain my Fongo service on my Android phon...

Re: Sytem problems - no incoming calls

Good work. Thanks to all of you. I think both Fongo's network status display and DCI's emails are excellent examples of good customer service. Wordline should listen. As I side note; if anyone is interested in cheap, basic mobile service (phone and text) should look up DCI Telcom's website. Cheers

Re: Sytem problems - no incoming calls

Update from DCI Telecom - DCI is my mobile provider "This outage does not affect Direct Access outbound calls, toll-free incoming, and U.S. or overseas incoming calls. The initial report of a Bell equipment failure has been revised. According to the newest reports a construction crew has drille...

Sytem problems - no incoming calls

This may be related to Fongo's headaches, I just received the email on my gmail account from DCI Telecom. "There is no ETA at this point but we are in close contact with their support teams and they are actively working on a quick resolution. Please accept our sincere apologies for this inconve...

Re: Lost incoming calls should almost never happen

Now the bad news. While the problem was fixed for a time, software fix apparently created other problems and IT WAS TAKEN OUT. Ergo incoming calls will still be lost while your ATA has no AC power. :x Worse, nobody seems to care. Note that it is not the Support Guys who are the problem> It is produc...

Re: Will the HT701 ATA work from a Thomson TG784?

Here is the situation after the installation and number port completed by Bell/Worldline. My ported (old Bell) number and internet works as expected on the Thomson box, but my Fongo account will not work, because the Fongo ATA will not register. After some discussion the Worldline tech called his te...

Re: Will the HT701 ATA work from a Thomson TG784?

Thanks for your note. As you know, I have a working "account" on my current config, modem, router and ATA. It was Worldline who imposed their Thomson modem/router. I guess from a service provider's perspective they want to know the hardware and not have to guess what is going on when somet...

Re: Will the HT701 ATA work from a Thomson TG784?

Hi Jake; The TG784 is not yet officially active. The transfer is scheduled for Thursday. I was just trying to see what will happen, got my conclusions and put the device back in the box. I have two Fongo Numbers (accounts) 1. my Fongo home phone 2. my Fongo (Dell?) phone on my Nexus4 I also have a F...

Will the HT701 ATA work from a Thomson TG784?

I am divorcing from Ma Bell! I have signed on with Worldline for HS internet and Home phone bundle. I am also porting my Bell number to them. Worldline has sent me a "preconfigured" Thomson TG7784 with instructions not to touch it!!! Could not resist. I swapped out my Speedtouch ST51...

Credit card update - how????

I received a new credit card and I can't find any way to update the payment information. One would think that under Account Info this would be an easy thing to do.

Unless someone helps me out here your next month fee for e911 will not be honored.

Re: Lost incoming calls should almost never happen

Thanks to the folks at Support, I am happy to report that this problem is now solved. Incoming calls from traditional landline carriers (Bell; Telus) and from mobile phones while your ATA is "unavailable" - like unplugged! - will now be directed to your voice mail. The solution while works...

Outgoing call problem

One of my outgoing calls got message "number is not in service". I tried it twice, checked and re-checked the number. It was correct. Calling the same number from my cell worked fine?! Network Status indicates maintenance on March 31. In and Outgoing calls are still yellow - today is April...

Re: A good router

My winner is the NETGEAR WNDR4000! I have tried several "new" - that is dual band - routers. All of them had the same problem. My HT701 Speedstream ATA was unable to register through them. I found it strange that the same ATA had no problem to register using my two "old" G router...

Re: Lost incoming calls should almost never happen

This is my second post on the subject. My phone worked OK for few months and then on Feb-28 my phone stopped receiving incoming calls. My cable modem, router and VOIP phone-adapter are on UPS, so no powerbreak could damage them I have rebooted them all multiple times and it did not help. I have als...

Re: Lost incoming calls should almost never happen

This is an update for those who are interested. Bulldogs get their bone - well almost! At least get attention. The problem of lost incoming calls was demonstrated recently to the good folks at FONGO. At their suggestion and participation we ran some tests to prove that the problem of lost incoming c...

ATA configuration - "that password is not valid"

Re: Home Alarm Monitoring with Fongo

I have an APC 550VA unit. Bought it at Staples on sale. Can't recall the price but I believe it was a very good offer. Somehow C$69 comes to mind. Shop around! I figure that the power consumption of my "telephone system"; DSL modem, router and ATA is around 20W. The APC 550 should support ...

Re: Voice Mail forwarding/copying to multiple email addresse

Even if you can, I don't like to scratch my left ear with my right hand. Band aid work arounds are OK for techies, but not for the average folks. This is my case; if a call is directed to voice mail, the notification message is sent to my email address. It is OK if I am at home or on line or whateve...

Voice Mail forwarding/copying to multiple email addresses

I wonder if the voice mail to email feature could be enhanced to be configurable with more than one email address and simultaneous delivery. I could use this feature in my home.

Not a "must have" rather a "nice to have" enhancement.

Re: What happens if I take my ATA to location outside city l

Funny you say that. My phone certainly does not work that way. If I disconnect my ATA or the registration is lost, incoming calls to my number will not go to voice mail. This is my biggest problem with FONGO. I just tested this with one of my accounts. I disconnected my end and waited until it show...
