Re: Latest version
The 'Sleep of Death' is something that plagues a lot of Android phones which have persistent-run rules set - Smurfs Village for instance, also has this issue. Development team has been notified, I suspect it is a culmination of several already reported bugs which should be fixed in the next update r...

callopsitte_himself, that is (IMO) a valuable suggestion, which I will be asking our dev team to look into.
Thank you

Re: Battery drain
To put in my $0.02 and to give yet another example, I'm unsure whether this is the app itself, or the hardware.
See my usage below (specifically battery). Note that cell standby is using 22%, while Dell Voice is using only 6%.

At this time Dell Voice is not offering that feature, please see this thread for additional details. Fongo will continue to offer this service.

Was the application able to connect in the first place?
When the call failed, what did she see on her end (ie 'Failed", fast busy tone, etc..)

Re: Dell Voice disconnects from server intermittently
I've changed the subject to better identify the thread, and avoid it being redirected. Signal strength is something most mobile apps have to battle with, and though I cannot verify this, because it is a application making calls requiring data there could be a rule set to 'set aside' or 'require' a c...

Re: Sending receiving SMS
Unfortunately the search function on the forum is not that good, it seems to not find a lot of things. Not to digress, but: Jake, I've rebuilt the search index converting it to fulltext mysql from native fulltext. I noticed a significant increase in the number of indexed characters and posts so thi...

Re: Bluetooth not working
@Jake & OP - I'm using a Jabra Cruiser2 in my car and I've had the same problem up until the most recent Android release of 2.3.7 and now the phone automatically selects answer on Bluetooth headset when it is connected. This happens with both Dell Voice calls, as well as regular GSM (mobile call...

Re: fongo or freephoneline?
Firstly, the answer is Fongo. Lastly, as posted here we've indicated that during the duration of our name transition you may see both names. I can assure you that while we make the necessary changes, we do so in a way where we may minimize the impact on our customers. I apologize for the confusion, ...

Re: Dell Voice Follow me FPL Follow me number
It's not enough to simply disable followme, the number will need to be deleted from your Fongo followme settings before you are able to add the number to Dell Voice.

Re: [resolved] Calling From Abroad
Further to Mikes' post, I would think of your Dell Voice mobile account like your own portable point-of-presence. Wherever you are in the world, if you log on with your Dell Voice Toronto phone number, it's just like you're calling from Toronto. (data charges of course will cost you if you're anywhe...

Re: Video Calling and SMS/MMS
FONGO_steve indicated there is in fact a plan to implement some sort of sms functionality into our service but wasn't able to provide a specific time frame. Video calling certainly sounds like a great feature and I will pass the suggestion up the totem pole. The amount of server load this requires i...

Re: Monitor When New Numbers are Released
When you ask the cost associated with claiming a unique phone number, do you mean signing up for an account and have it disassociated with Fongo and instead have it assigned to yourself? Perhaps I'm misreading here, however as with all carriers, once you sign up with an account for all intensive pur...

Unfortunately we do not. Toronto-416 numbers are pretty rare nowadays unless subscribers cancel (our service, or other carriers) no one really has any anymore.

Re: WiFi only
If that is the case, most phones have the option to turn data off nowadays. I know about turning off data and have used it. My point was that some people might want to use VoIP when on WiFi only and use "Follow Me" when on the cell network. My apologies for the slight misunderstanding Jam...

There are absolutely no monthly payments, unless you've enabled the auto-renew feature on our World Credits for long distance. To port your number, it is a one-time fee of $25 additional to the cost of the VoIP unlock key.

Are you seeing "Connected to Fongo" in your notification bar?
The green / red lights for WiFi and Data are only an indication that you've got an active connection for either of them not necessarily to Fongo.

Re: Android app stops running in background
Let me take a look - I've modified my phone to the point of no return so it might take a minute or two to find it. Update: It is most certainly a function of the kernel I'm running and not available on stock installations. When you notice the app closed, I'm assuming you just wake up your phone and ...
