Re: Can't Receive Calls From Petrolia

Thank you all for the help. It looked like the ticket to Cogeco did resolve the issue. The numbers in Petrolia are able to call for the FIRST time. I am still concern though, are there still other numbers that cannot call us. Should I reply to the "Port Complete" email from Freephoneline ...

Re: Unable to dial a specific number.

Hi seanhoff, I just replied to your PM but will post here as well just so everyone else reading the thread knows where we are at! Are you able to try the call with your caller ID unblocked? I noticed in the call log that you had your ID blocked so I ran a few tests with my ID blocked and unblocked a...

Re: No outgoing calls over 4G Rogers

As CsipSimple is not software that is distributed by Fongo, we are unable to provide any support for it. It's much the same as bringing a third party modem to an ISP - they'll support the internet service end of things, but if the modem is what's preventing you from using the service then they'll ha...

Hi waveman,

If you're still having the trouble, are you able to send me a PM with your number and examples of some recent (within 12hrs) calls that were encountering this trouble?

Thanks

Neil is checking into 211/311 in supported cities to see why these calls don't seem to be connecting in some cases. Him or myself will update once we hear something!

Re: 811, 311 access

Correction to what i wrote earlier, 311 is supported in some areas, however, according to CRTC regulations, they ned to contact us in order to be added to the system as we are not allowed to go to them. That being the case, Mike, why has VANCOUVER 3-1-1 stopped working now, when it did before? Are ...

Re: Is FPL desktop application discontinued?

I'd suggesting running an adware/spyware scan. The screenshot you posted seems to have a whole bunch of advertising links showing on the text on our website - we do not actually have that type of advertising on our site, or any advertising that uses pop-up boxes on mouseovers like that. It's possibl...

3 - Voice used to take 1mb of data per minute, but I believe that has been cut down to much less now. Text messaging uses hardly any data (http://support.dellvoice.ca/articles/FAQ/How-much-data-does-text-messaging-SMS-use/?q=data+usage&l=en_US&c=Category%3AMinimum_Requirements&fs=Search...

Re: all calls to my number are forwarded

Try power cycling the HT-701 ATA. When you connected on the iPhone it would have kicked the HT-701 offline, and when you disconnected the iPhone then it would be sitting with nothing registered until the next re-register attempt from the HT-701 (which is usually every 1hr by default).

Re: Problem: Cant hear anything with freephoneline.ca

Hello Steve, I tried to put my PAP2-NA into DMZ of my router, and the phone worked fine. But how unsecure is such setting ? I also tried to connect my PAP2-NA directly into my modem, and the phone also worked fine. So what else can I do with my router to make the phone work and keep the security on...

Re: Problem: Cant hear anything with freephoneline.ca

For experimentation sake (don't leave it like this) have you tried putting the ATA in the DMZ? This would forward ALL ports and is best to do just to see if the behaviour changes, I'd never leave a SIP device in a DMZ permanently though because it's a security risk.

Re: Problem: Cant hear anything with freephoneline.ca

Try opening port 5060 instead of 13000. 5060 is the SIP port and is generally the one which will cause audio problems ahead of the RTP ports (13000). The DIR-601 is a router model which unfortunately doesn't always play well with SIP, but at least you seem to have the latest firmware. I have a DIR-6...

Re: Nearing wits end (audio dropout)

Absence of far side audio would usually indicate some sort of downstream problem, potentially with the call routing or carrier connecting the calls to said location. Do you mind PMing Mike or myself the details of some of these calls, along with your account number? We should be able to check out th...

Re: Alternative SIP Ports \ Officially Supported SIP Ports?

Could you clarify that? You can use any port as a SIP port, and your system is OK with that? If so, cool. I know you can select any available RTP port, but I did not know you could also do that with SIP ports. For example, I set the ATA on my desk to use local SIP port 8145 (a random port I chose) ...

Re: Repeatedly Getting Calls from "101"

Most ATAs have the option to disallow direct IP dialling - if you simply disable that ability then you can leave the port forwarding setup as is. All our ATAs configured in the recent year or so ship with this option disabled so we can be proactive against preventing these types of calls.

Re: Alternative SIP Ports \ Officially Supported SIP Ports?

You can ultimately set any port you want on your end and the ATA will connect to the appropriate port(s) on our end as needed. Unless you use SIP address calling in the ATA, the best solution is usually to just disallow SIP/direct IP calls.

Re: Pls save voicemail msg without needing to press pound #

Pound key is not mandatory on the system. The voicemail will be saved either when the phone is hung up or when pound is pressed. The majority of people just hang up as there really isn't anything to do after pressing # and staying on the line!
