This Call Is Not Covered By Your Tarriff Plan

Earlier today, I dialed a 343 (Kingston, ON) number and heard "This Call Is Not Covered By Your Tarriff Plan" I didn't find much on this issue in the forums, but there is this doc: https://support.fongo.com/hc/en-us/articles/212437906-This-call-is-not-covered-by-your-tarriff-plan . However...

Re: I can't download Freephoneline Desktop Application

Sorry to hear your ATA's not working and you're having trouble getting the FPL app. The Fongo app is a different service altogether than FPL, so won't work with your FPL account info. I suggest you get a SIP client for Android, like CSipSimple or Zoiper. (Search the forums; there should be info on t...

Re: Cisco Linksys PAP2T NA VOIP ADAPTER

I haven't used it personally, but looks like it'd ultimately work with FPL. Search the forums for PAP2T and see what people say. THere should be a crowdsourced config guide, too.

Others will likely jump in and suggest Obihai stuff instead.

Possible good news for BB7 users? I haven't confirmed this myself, but wanted to post in case it helps the 9900 user above.

Re: Dell Voice by Fongo

Taki's probably as good as it gets for the PlayBook, I agree. Shame that that didn't get more support or an upgrade to BB10, but that's another discussion. For BB10, a great SIP client is Sip.fm -- free, and a native BB app. Freephoneline credentials work beautifully in it. I'm not as familiar with ...

Re: Dell Voice by Fongo

The Fongo app runs on BlackBerry phones that have OS10 (ex. Q10), not on OS7 or earlier (ex. Bold 9900). The app for BB10 is merely an Android port, but it is officially posted by Fongo in BlackBerry World (app store). Even through the Android emulation, the app (quite lightweight) works well. Of co...

Re: FPL with HT-701 (Firmware 1.0.8.2)

v3 of the doc contains a setting I recently learned needs to be changed from the default value SIP OPTIONS Keep Alive Interval -- change to 20 (30 is the default) Thanks to Lipton for pointing it out in another thread. It also contains the link to the supported Asus routers for Merlin firmware, and ...

Re: ATA not registered yet can make calls?

Thanks, Lipton!

I have a RT-N600 which has limited third party firmware options.

I just noticed that the keepalive interval in my ATA is 30 (default). I'll change that to 20.

ATA not registered yet can make calls?

My HT701 (1.0.8.2 FW) is showing up as not registered today (in both the ATA and freephoneline.ca account views, alike). Yet I can make outgoing calls. I just tried one. I did a test incoming call and that didn't work -- I got forwarded to voicemail. Any idea what might be happening there? As the ol...

If you're willing to look into a device/gadget to do this, why not go with a multi-headset with a base unit? Re: Free NL cities/towns removed?

Thanks for the reply and the snapshot of an earlier version of the list, Jake! I appreciate it. It's disappointing to see this list reduced so much. I have family in NL and I was excited to see smaller towns slowly but surely being added. Was hoping to see my wife's home town added so she could call...

Re: Hard to get data only from providers now.

Probably one of the smaller providers like Freedom Mobile or Fido would be worth a look. There are ways to tie a tablet data plan to a smartphone, but I believe there's a bit of manual intervention involved. This thread might be worth checking out: http://forums.redflagdeals.com/cheapest-mobile-data...

Re: General Desktop app info

As a workaround for people who want multiple devices to ring from the same FPL number, you could always sign up for Fongo mobile (free) and have FPL simultaneously ring that number. That way, you can have a mix of hard phones (ex. a cordless phone base plugged into the ATA) and a softphone (Fongo th...

Yes, Fongo service follows you, and no extra fees. All you need is internet (of course) at the new location and you're good to go.

Re: Unique phone porting question

Yes, it's possible. But you have to open the app to set the call forwarding. But after that, you can close it and the Fongo account can be a permanent forward to another number.

Re: Unique phone porting question

Yes, you should be able to port the 416 number into Fongo. The app runs just fine on BB10 devices (am a fellow BB10 user and have used Fongo on a Q5, Q10, and Passport). Call forwarding works perfectly fine on Fongo (and "behind the scenes" as you said), so it should fit the bill for your ...

Re: can i use Fongo on my phone ?

Sadly, Fongo does not have a client that supports Lumia phones, so you need to get another phone if you want to use Fongo. The Fongo client only supports Android and Apple phones. If you wanted to make free phone calls with your Lumia phone, you would need to install a SIP client on your Lumia phon...

Block numbers with HT-701 settings?

Hi all, Anyone know of any way to block numbers through the ATA? We keep getting a call from a 1866 number, twice daily at least. In a few years, that's the only "spam" calls we've received through FPL. If I could even just block this one entry, our household would be a lot happier. Sugges...
