Re: SpeedTouch 780WL - Hangup detection problems
Make sure your load number is not too high for your ATA. Phone lines, be it from Bell or from an ATA device, can manage up to X phones in capacity. Certain devices can consume more than others. If you have a few phones and an answering machine, you might be nearing the capacity of the ATA. Try to un...

It's 10000 and 10001.
Also, the codec thing discussed above is an absolute MUST. Without G711 enabled, you will NOT receive any phone calls.

Re: Linksys SPA 2102
Is your ATA receiving its IP address automatically (by DHCP) or manually? A mistake I made when installing my PAP2 is that I set a fixed IP to the unit, but manually (not by a DHCP reservation). Because of that, I forgot to set the gateway address, which resulted in the ATA being unable to reach the...

I just posted the question here: http://forums.grandstream.com/forums/index.php?topic=8378.0 Let's hope someone has a solution for this. I've got my finger twitching on the "Add to cart" button for a PAP2T... And about your hang up problem, check these two settings: "Hook Flash Timing...

That'S because FreePhoneLine is only half of a SIP service provider. Their business is not into offering full-fledged SIP service, just the SIP account to connect to a phone or ATA, the rest is normal phone networks.

Re: GrandStream HT-502
Tried a different phone for fun? By the way I have a problem with my HT502 that is making me go nuts. Every few days, I pick up the phone and .. "Device not registered." I then log on the webpage, click any tab, press reboot, voila. I'm goot for a few days, maybe even a week. What the heck...

Just got the newsletter by email. I must admit, for an company based outside of Quebec, you did a great job on the translation. There's still a few hilarities of course, but most of the text is properly translated. We don't see that often. Most of the time, the text is squeezed into babelfish or goo...

Re: No connection to server - worked for one day
You probably just have to reconfigure your wireless settings such as access point name and encrpytion key.
Sometimes, uprgading firmwares resets a few parameters here and there.

Re: Insufficient funds?
Your problem is the configuration of your dial plan. Right now, your ATA is recognizing a "valid phone number" even before you're done punching the numbers. This incomplete phone number is tried and FPL reports you can't call there. If you dial it quickly, it passes entirely so it's accept...

Re: break up of voice
When you say "rogers wireless", do you mean you have your internet via 3G, or is it a standard wired internet link (DSL or cable) and then you have a WiFi router?

Both parties?? How can you NOT be on FPL on your end?
As for me, everyone I call is on standard Bell phone lines and there's no static.

Re: D-Link DVG-1120S
You seem to be doing everything properly, I can't spot anything wrong with these settings, assuming that the IP of th ATA is really set to .100 It's been said several times that a lot of routers don't play nice with VoIP traffic. Perhaps you could try and see if your router (heck, the ATA too) would...

I'm no networking expert, but I find it a bit unsettling that a vital switch could drop packets without anyone noticing. Isn't there monitoring in place to watch for that?

I'd be curious about what would happen if you were to start the softphone with Administrator rights.

Re: Recording Phone Calls
General rule: recording anything = legal.
Doing something with the recording = not legal unless permission is granted.
This works for photographs in public, wiretapping, etc. There'S a few exclusions for journalisms but that's the gist of it.

It's possible your forwarding is missing a tiny part to make it work properly. Can you provide a few screenshots of your configuration? I'D like to see the router's forwarding page for starters.

Re: D-Link DVG-1120S
Actually, what most likely happens is that the FPL server tries to reach one, fails, and moves on the the voicemail as a backup.
3 typical causes for not receiving a call:
- g711 codec not available
- ports not forwarded
- ATA not registered properly

Re: Sound Cuts Out for Half a Second Randomly
Unfortunately for us, a VoIP provider isn't like "the phone company". When your phone doesn't work, you call the phone company. They send a phone technician that checks the phone wire from your house all the way to the phone central. He might have to drive there with his phone truck. Every...

Re: break up of voice
There is no need to PM me at the same time as you ask your question in the forum. You should setup your ports as "Customer Defined Service Table", and put ports 5060, 5061, 6060, 6061, 13000 and 13001 all in UDP mode, forwarded to the IP of your ATA. As the voice beakup, you either have an...

That's because inband is not quite the best option, but as we've discovered, there doesn't seem to be a best option. InBand means that the tones are kept as audio sounds, hoping that the transmission doesn't break them too much so the system on the other side can still understand them. It will only ...
