Acrobits Softphone on iPhone over 3G

Post by wormx »

Hi guys -- I've been using Acrobits Softphone successfully with fpl for months. It works great as long as I'm connected to a WiFi network. However, if I am on 3G, no calls are connected. Instead I get the "This call is not covered by your tariff plan" message. Anyone know why I would get that only on 3G?

Which version did you use it?

What is your wireless carrier? Maybe they don't support VoIP phone service

My carrier is Rogers. I don't think that's it though. Skype works fine on 3G. The call connects to the FPL network, and then I'm given that "not covered" message. I have version 4.9.1

I was wondering if you can hear another caller... I could not so it redirect me to buy .99 cents NAT with monthly renewal...

I haven't tried it. I bought softphone, and before I buy another app, I'd like to know what the issue is. I'd hate to buy it, only to have the same result.

No the call doesn't connect. I just get the standard FPL message "This call is not covered by your tariff plan." It's the same message I get using my ATA and try to call long distance. It's as though while I'm on 3G on the iPhone, every call is long distance.

Give the 3cx one a try. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/3cxphone ... 27995?mt=8 I use it on my Android when I am testing things and it works well. It's free so you have nothing to loose but a bit of time.

I did have the same problems sometimes, I can't remember details but what I did, I set up rule to remove "+" sign and it solved my problems. Also, try to dial:
1+are code+number
or:
area code+number.
