G729a Incoming not working on iphone softphone

I'm ditching my voice plan. I dont use it, i dont want to pay 25$ a month for it, but i do occasionally need to receive calls, so voip on the iphone is what i need.

And it works. I got pretty much everything working (inbound dialing works, push works) but i can't get incoming calls to sync when G729A is the only codec enabled. it comes up as an error and doesn't connect.

Outbound g729a calls work perfectly. Inbound G711u-law calls work well too, but 3G isn't good enough for G711u (packet loss). G729a sounds fantastic, i just need it to work.

I'm using groundwire (acrobits) with G729a added on. I'm all ears.

It was indeed the wrong section - No worries, I have moved this to appropriate one.

As for your question, I'll let the community answer this as I typically avoid both VoIP over 3G and the iPhone.

This has been discussed many times. FPL does not officially support G729a. It works on outgoing but not on incoming. If you want to use G729a for incoming, you will need another provider.
