Port 5060 and 5061 closed
I managed to open ports 6060, 6061, 13000 and 13001 on my DLink DIR-615 router with success. However, I am unable to open 5060 and 5061. I have read that these SIP ports may be closed by my ISP. Is there any way to get around this issue with the softphone?

Softphone does not use 5060/5061.

Re: Port 5060 and 5061 closed
Thanks for the response. I based my question on FAQ which indicated:
Q.What do I need to do to get the softphone functioning properly after installing it?
A.Our softphone operates on UDP ports 13000, 13001, 5060, 5061, 6060 and 6061. Please make sure these ports are opened in any firewall, internet security suites and hardware routers you may have in your home.
What are the ports that softphone uses? I can use it at other locations and dial out to an outside line on my softphone, just not from my ISP cogeco! When I dial there is no ring at all

Re: Port 5060 and 5061 closed
What do you mean by "unable" exactly? If your ISP blocked the ports, it would not prevent you from setting up a port forward rule in your routers. Data would still not reach you, but you wouldn't know it from the router side.mhughes28 wrote:I am unable to open 5060 and 5061
So if by "unable" you mean that "my whatever router denied/rejected/gave an error when I tried to do it", the that means something else is already requesting a port forward in your router. One port can onkly be forwarded to one destination at a time. If that is the case, then cehck the other port forwarding rules in place, or see if a phone application has not already requested these ports through STUN or UPnP.
