I'm a newbie currently subscribing to Bell and looking to move to FPL. My understanding is that in order for me to retain a physical phone, I will need to purchase an ATA and connect the phone to it. Before I purchase one, is there a recommended ATA unit that is known to be reliable and dependable? I'm not much of a telephony nor a network subject matter expert and I thought i seek guidance as there are numerous in the marketplace.
Thank you
Any recommendation on ATA?

Re: Any recommendation on ATA?
Obihai ATA devices are your best bet. Newegg.ca tends to sell them at a decent price, and there is a sale every so often.
You might also need a router, preferably one that is DD-WRT compatible. I would wait to see if the router you already have is good enough though.

Thanks Bridonca for your quick response ...
I goggled Obihai and it came with a few models ...OBi100, OBi202, etc Any particular model I should be looking at?
I have an ASUS RTB-56U dual band router; which I think isn't too bad.

They will all do what you need, some have extra features though. http://www.obihai.com/faq/About-the-OBi ... and-OBi110
I have heard good things about the ASUS RT-N56U, should do the job.

Re: Any recommendation on ATA?
I'll look at getting the Obihai OBi202 ... the 2nd port may come on handy for the home office or in-law. Newegg is the cheapest I've found at $69.99 ... $10 more than the OBi110 which I was looking at.
I'll look at completing the rest of the setup including porting my number once I get the ATA.
Thanks for your help Bridonca !!!
