FLP Followme - Call registering as what number?

Postby Sartos » 09/13/2009

Hi,

If I use the FLP Followme feature to forward a call to my cell phone, will a forwarded call registers on my cell as from my FLP number when a call is forwarded to my phone? If my FLP number is on my "Fav 5" I get unlimited incoming local minutes on it. Therefore if it is the case, then I would get unlimited incoming minutes for all calls forwarded through my FLP number.

Thanks.

Hello there,
I tried this follow me features with exactly the same way as u wish, but the results are not the what we wish as every time some body will call to FPL number (and FPL number will ring at ur cell phone due to follow me set up) u will still get the original caller's name and number at ur cell phone (not the FPL number even its forwarding the same call to ur cell phone). I even have tried the same formula with one of the other VOIP provider called Comwave, this type of follow me function did not worked with them either.

If we forward the call as your FPL number then you would have no way of easily identifying who calls you. It would be nice for the unlimited incoming calls as you mention, but unfortunately it isn't practical when most people want to know exactly who is calling them - especially when their freephoneline is their primary line and is used for a heavy amount of calling.

FPL can introduce a settings similar as Google Voice

Caller ID: By default, Google Voice/FPL displays the caller ID of your caller. You can also choose to display your Google/FPL number as the caller ID, so you know you received the call on your Google/FPL number.

Options:

a) Display caller's number
b) Display my Google Voice/FPL number

If users choose option b) then Rogers "My5", Bell "Fav 5", etc will works.

Let me look into whether or not this would be possible!

I think it is. Because I have 2 FPL accounts. One of them shows caller's number on forwarded calls and the other one shows FPL number??? Interesting...huh?
