When I add my home phone as a Followme number, it says already used as a followme number by someone eles.
How do I find who took my number?

Looks like someone has made a typo when setting up their forwarding. The best thing that you can do is call in to the customer services line 611 if you are logged into a Fongo service or go to the web site of the service that you use for other customer service numbers.

Yes, I think you need to call the person who forwarded your number and see if you phone rings. Not quite sure how you will do that unless it is another member of your household that did the forwarding.

Hello Wang, most of the cases when people have this kind of situation it is recommended to verify if you have another account with Fongo ex FPL, Dell voice, etc. Trust me I have seen this case very often :D. Do you recall having more than one account with Fongo people?

Thanks for all replies. Looks like one of my friend from the other city forward his local number to my number for saving long distance. I don’t like to call one by one to find out who did it. Is there a way can find that number or contact person/email easily?

Call into a CSR and they will be able to help you. They might not be able to tell you who's number it is connected to, but they should be able to remove it for you.

+1 to Jake's suggestion -- they should be able to at the very least CLEAR your number out of the other account, even if they cannot verify for you WHO's account it is.

That person should notice that their calls to their own number then FAIL to fwd to you, and be able to do whatever they need to do at that point.

Good luck, and let us know what Fongo CSR have to say when you call in to them!

Called CSR, he worked five or more minutes, and gave a suggestion to add 1 in front of the number.
It doesn't work!
Any one can think about it?

If the website is spitting out "That number is already in use" message, adding or deleting a prefixing "1" will not do a damn thing (pardon the slightly colourful language). And the rep should KNOW that.

Perhaps try a different rep (IE: call again). Arm yourself with the knowledge that the "1" is not important in determining the number -- the ONLY place I have seen the leading "1" matter AT ALL is when calling into VOICEMAIL and being asked to enter your ACCT # ... it is _11_ digits. For placing calls and forwarding, I have not had a case yet where the "1" makes or fails it (although there COULD be a case for that .... I am only using the softphone...). I know some ATA users have reported issues 10D vs 11D, but I think that is more on their LOCAL side dial translations rather than the FONGO network...

Can you PM me the number you are trying to forward to? I may not be able to make the change via communicating with you on the ofrums, but i can at least get you the information you need for when you call in and speak to a CSR
