I would like to know how much bandwidth the service uses.
I have been using about 2Gig a day in bandwidth of late and this spike happened about the same time I started using FPL. I need to eliminate the possible causes of this spike and the SIP phone is one possible cause.
FYI... I am monitoring my CPUs usage with DU meter. Is there any similar tool that can be used for the SIP phone?
Also of interest is the fact that I changed the password on my wireless Router which uses WPA2. I am told this type of connection is pretty secure.

Re: Bandwidth Usage
2GB per month is fine for VoIP. As for the wireless security. VoIP is no more "unsecure" that a regular phone line so you're not risking much.

Re: Bandwidth Usage
The G792a codec uses approximately 8kbps of bandwidth, so you'd be at half a meg bandwidth for a 1 minute call (approximately).

Re: Bandwidth Usage
Turns out my bandwidth hog was some bookmarklets I use on Facebook when playing a game called Mafia Wars. Thanks for the quick response.
Re: Bandwidth Usage
For the comprehensive and exact numbers you can try the VoIP Bandwidth calculator, as the bandwidth usage also depends on your ATA settings (like RTP packet size for example).
