Need help

Post by epee »

Yesterday I just purchased the SIP key and tried to set my device up (obi110). Until now my device still not work properly. I called FPL csr and no supprise, useless...

Work two phone calls:
First call:
I call a local number and can hear the ring, then hear nothing; after that i tried many many many times, it won't work again; I check the status in SIP setting, it show "disconnected";

Second call: (10 hours later)
I login to obitalk website and do the same set up. My obi110 device work again, I can ring out and in. But when I make a call to a local number, it disconnected again after about 1 minute call!

What happen? Service down or anything I don't know?

Please note that we are not obligated to provide any support for third party hardware. The VoIP Unlock Key is sold for "bring your own device" users who must seek their own support for their own devices.

I have never actually come across the obi110 as it is not readily available in Canada and I don't need one. :D
\However....
Fongo, as far as I know, does not offer an outgoinging proxy so make these changes:
Outbound Proxy Server: voip.freephoneline.ca -> Outbound Proxy Server:
Outbound Proxy Server Port: 5060 -> Outbound Proxy Server Port:
Try again. If it does not work then
Have you forwarded the required ports from your router to the ATA?

You could try a regular voip service and check that it works OK. Perhaps register for getonsip.com (free registrationion) and you should be able to get it to work very easily. If you cannot then perhaps there is a problem with the obi110.

There has been some posts about the obi110 before, here is one of them http://forum.fongo.com/viewtopic.php?f= ... 110#p12417

Use the search, there are a few more, I just don't want to fill up the post with URLs. One of them might point you in the right direction. Let us know how you get on. The post I linked to said they managed to get it working fine.

Thanks for your info.

I tried that yesterday but not work. However, I tried it again and it works now. I did post a thread in obi forum and got reply:
My OBi is setup this way with FPL. I'm not certain you need all these settings, however it works for me.

ITSP Profile A/B->General->SignalingProtocol = SIP

ITSP Profile A/B->General->SIP-> Everything on this page is set to default except the following:
ITSP Profile A/B->General->SIP->ProxyServer = voip.freephoneline.ca
ITSP Profile A/B->General->SIP->RegistrarServer = voip.freephoneline.ca
ITSP Profile A/B->General->SIP->OutboundProxy = voip.freephoneline.ca

Voice Services->SP1/2 Service->SIP Credentials-> AuthUserName = FPL DID number (include the "1") 15145551212
Voice Services->SP1/2 Service->SIP Credentials->AuthPassword = Whatever
Don't know what happen but at least my obi110 work now.

Thanks again.

I got Obi110configured with GV and FPL and it works perfect. One worrd or advice: port forward on your router is the biggest culpit and sometimes if router has/supports "Disable SIP ALG"

Hi vdemko, thanks for the tips. I'll try it out tonight. But where I can find SIP ALG? How to do port forward? Sorry i'm new on this thing. And my router is ASUS RT N56U.

I just did a search for your router your router and found that it is a router that has given plenty of problems for some of its users. It seems that there is some Russian firmware that corrects most of the problems but since I haven't got a RT N56U I can't say whether it helps or not. If you have, can borrow or try the obi110 on, another "good" router then givie it a try. At least that might make it clear where the problem is.

thanks for your reply. don't know what happen, but it work now. I didn't change anything, it just works. Maybe Freephoneline tech did some test on my account because last night I check the SIP status, I saw my account was used by other device I don't know (don't remember the name, but look like: x-stream....).
