I am wondering why this number is no longer free:

Burnaby - 778-807

Thanks

Victoria - 778-406

Burnaby - 778-807

I haven't been in the forum for a while now as everything works so well with Fongo/Freephoneline and I haven't needed assistance until now.

Thank you.

Taz

778-807-xxxx certainly should be free, especially as it is a Fibernetics (Fongo's CLEC and parent company) number. When I use the rate lookup table it is showing as a free call, so there should be no problem calling it.

778-406-xxxx is indeed Victoria, and that is on the free calling list of cities so hopefully support will check into this.

I just got a Koodo Calgary number 587--585-XXXX. This is a local number in Calgary dialing area, but Fongo/Freephoneline does not recognize as a free calling number. Would you please verify it?

Thanks.

That number is indeed on a Calgary listed exchange, http://www.fongo.com/calling/free/

Edit. I have been informed that this number should be added to the free calling list shortly. So try it tomorrow and see if the call goes through.

The number is working fine. Thank you Jake. Great service. :D

587-586 is indeed a Calgary number
587,586,8301,TELUS Mobility,In Service,Calgary,

Sometimes when new exchanges come online it takes a while for them to be added to the proper rate tables. Years ago it was a complete mess with hundreds of NPA-NXX numbers missing, and even some listed as free which should not have been!

Anyway, hopefully someone from Fongo will see this and make sure it is added properly to the rate tables.

Fongo Support, I thought this was supposed to be automatic from quite a while ago now?

Hello Jake,

This was already added yesterday. Please ignore the message on your Fongo mobile device and place the call- should be free.

It is actually listed as Ottawa-Hull, so it definitely should be free.
Code: Select all

Someone from Fongo should see this and get it added to the free list, or explain why it is not free.

Kainip, I moved your post.

This is obviously a new exchange so it has not been added to the rate tables yet.

Someone from Fongo should pick this up and add 437-344-XXXX numbers shortly.

Hi Jake,

I posted this way back in September. I'm still not able to call. Is there any way to get the Fongo folks to look at it?

Thanks

They are supposed to be monitoring this thread, after all it is what they started it for.

Hopefully someone will say one way or another if it will be added. You can always try sending in a support ticket also, but posting in this thread should be enough..

Calls to Calgary 587

Postby le_kid » 02/26/2015

I just registered a new number with FPL in Calgary and I got it in the 403 range. I'm trying to call in the the 587 code (587-577-xxxx and 587-834-xxxx) but I get a message that I don't have sufficient funds, despite being local Calgary numbers.

I had a look on this forum and found out about the world rates lookup so I looked into it and both these 'areas' are listed as 0.02$. Is it 'normal' and is there any plans to change this in the near future?

Thanks

le_kid, I have moved your topic to here as this one should be monitored by Fongo.

587-577-xxxx and 587-834-xxx numbers are registered for Calgary as you stated:
Code: Select all
587,577,TELUS Mobility,8301,In Service,Calgary,
587,834,Bell Mobility,6574,Assigned,Calgary,

Calls to Calgary should be free as per this list http://www.fongo.com/calling/free/#alberta

Fongo will need to add this to their rate tables so the calls are free.

These are probably fairly new exchanges so may be due for inclusion on the next update, but they need to be added non the less.

Fongo - I would suggest looking at other numbers in this area as this whole block seems to be not added.
Code: Select all
587,576,TELUS Mobility,8301,Assigned,Calgary,
587,577,TELUS Mobility,8301,In Service,Calgary,
587,578,TELUS Mobility,8301,In Service,Calgary,
587,579,TELUS Mobility,8301,In Service,Calgary,
587,580,TELUS Mobility,8301,In Service,Calgary,
587,581,TELUS Mobility,8301,In Service,Calgary,
587,582,TELUS Mobility,8301,In Service,Calgary,
587,583,TELUS Mobility,8301,In Service,Calgary,
587,584,TELUS Mobility,8301,In Service,Calgary,

581-986

It's located in Boischatel, Quebec.

Is this normal?

Thanks

That exchange is actually listed up as Quebec
Code: Select all
581    986    Videotron General Partnership    328F    In Service    Quebec

So yes it certainly should be free. It could be that it is a new exchange and it is has not been added to the rate table correctly yet. Someone from Fongo should be monitoring this thread so it should get added, but I would also send in a support ticket (maybe the World Credits option) http://support.fongo.com/anonymous_requests/new Also see if you can put in a request for a refund for any amounts charged so far.

If that isn't the right place, I am sure it will be forwarded to the right person.
