Voice being chopped up is frequently the result of internet speed. The recommended minimum internet speed is 1Mbps+. If you have something less than this, you may have issues.

Also, if you are using much of your bandwidth, make sure that you allocate (or don't use) 1Mbps+ to your VoIP. If you have a 5Mbps line, don't use more than 4Mpbs at a time - like downloading or playing online flash games.

actually i have a 10MB connection and i do get high speeds when i download, but the voice chop up continues even when all my computers are down and only the ATA is running, i have a secured network and i have enabled mac filtering as well, i also studied my router logs to ensure no one is steeling bandwidth ..

Those are simply minimum requirements - the same as reading system requirements on a video game box. It will work on those requirements, but how well will be dependent on the users computer and how they allocate their bandwidth usage. For it to always work 100%, then 1mbps+ is recommended. It is more than capable of running on 128kbps as the minimum requirements state, but if the user is browsing the web, downloading or doing anything that may use up large amounts of bandwidth then you'll certainly run into problems like choppy voice.
