improvements for voice quality

Post by jumppack »

hello, i was wondering what i can do to improve the sound quality of people that i call. i have wireless internet( am sharing with roommate). even when hes not on the internet, and i dont have any programs running in the back round, the voices are still choppy and slow sounding. also wondering if he could possibly hear my conversations since we are using the same internet. also i just use the computer with a mic/headset thing, i dont have any attachements for the FPL yet.

1. You may have to add an exception in your firewall for the freephoneline.exe program.
2. Open router ports UDP 13000, 13001, as well as 5060, and 5061 (you may need to call the manufacturer of your router to do so).
3. There is no way your roomate could listen to your calls, if you are just calling from your computer and there is only one headset plugged in, he cannot possibly listen in.

I have opened the port with the firewall with windows. Into the test connection, the port is still not working. Please help! The sound is choppy as hell...
