Was your bank's name "FreeBankCard" ? Probably not. Here, however, their name is "FreePhoneLine". It'd be hard to suddenly start to charge for the service!

Honestly though, no one knows for sure. They've been doing it for a few years and so far, so good. No one can predict how the canadian phone market will evolve. Maybe in a few years the concept of a phone line will be completely different? They'Re doing their best to stay free, and I think we can reasonably expect a good number of years ahead.

The best thing to do is use some of the "pay" services to help pay for the "free" service. They sell long distance packages and internet. After all they are giving you free phone service. Not a bad deal of internet and phone for just over 30 bucks a month. Cant get that service anywhere else. So support freephoneline to keep it free forever.

It is free after you pay $50 and after you get the ata and so on.And only after you made it work if you didn't get the ata from them. I have to say many thanks to Funkytown whose settings worked for me too. So leave your worries aside and enjoy the free part of it if don't wish to pay for ata and/or configuration to have a regular phone in house. I presently have now to voip providers on the same ata so if one lets me down I will have the other one. So by now I pay for one and I have two.
The only free is if you use only the pc software.

It will be "free" for as long as the owner does not sell the company. The moment its sold to another company. The new company will have the rights to start implementing a low monthly "fee" of maybe $5 or something. Anything can happen, but enjoy while you can.
