Re: answering machine
Currently there are no access numbers in Calgary, Alberta.
Why?
Can't I simply call my own FPL number from a remote phone, enter a password, and listen to my voicemail the normal way?

Re: answering machine
I actually generated all of these on Thursday, I just need to finish up and point them to the original VM access number to make them work.
I'll get on that right away...

Re: answering machine
is there a way to do this? just calling my FPL # and pressing a key (like 0) to get the password prompt? Would be a nice feature to haveTreeHugginHippy wrote:Can't I simply call my own FPL number from a remote phone, enter a password, and listen to my voicemail the normal way?

Re: answering machine
Unfortunately not, because the call doesn't technically start until you answer the phone, at which point it's too late to press #. The remote access numbers are the best we can do for away-from-home voicemail accessjgionet76 wrote:is there a way to do this? just calling my FPL # and pressing a key (like 0) to get the password prompt? Re: answering machine
so even if I hear my greeting this can't be done? cause technically the call has been answered by your systems.FPL-steve wrote:Unfortunately not, because the call doesn't technically start until you answer the phone, at which point it's too late to press #. I have VM with my current VOIP provider and that is how their customers can check their VM remotely. (locally it's *98 as well)
maybe something to consider for a future enhancement

Oh okay, I didn't think that one through, I was thinking you were inquiring about doing that while it was initially ringing.jgionet76 wrote: so even if I hear my greeting this can't be done? cause technically the call has been answered by your systems.

I'll pass the suggestion along and see if it's something our system would be compatible with in the future.
