cannot make calls or recieve them

cannot make calls or recieve them
I found out this morning I cannot make calls or recieve calls on my phone, my internet works fine. I am using the $50 paid for file phone service. in the account settings it says sip registration status offline. does anyone know why my phone doesn't work and how to fix it?

Turn everything off for about a minute, the router, modem, and sip device . Now turn the modem on, wait 20 seconds, turn the router on, wait another 20 seconds, then turn on the sip device. See what happens.

i tried powering off and on all three and it doesn't make a difference. the phone light on the linksys pap does'nt come on. my internet is working however.

I think you will need to access your Linksys PAP's web admin page and go see the error displayed on the first page, around "Line 1 status" as the first indication of the problem. We'll go from there. Perhaps the device lost the configuration and you need to put it again? (username, password for the SIP account)

I guess I should ask, what do you have for a router and a modem? I take it your sip device is a pap2? Did freephoneline ever work for you?

Hm, you seem to not be the only one to experience this "Can't connect to login server" message.

As these threads seem to be about the same problem as you, I suggest you watch those for updates.
If you have the ability to install and test the softphone application on your PC, see if that works for your account?
Just for fun, I have the same device as you and there's nothing in my "Display name" box. Maybe you could try that?
