Caller ID Blocking

How do I block the caller ID on an outgoing call. I have tried *67 but it doesn't work.

I'm using the FPL client and x-lite softphone. I have seen post regarding ATAs butI'm not using one.

Additional Info:

When I dial *67 in either the FPL softphone or x-lite I hear "This call is not covered by your tariff plan". This happens whether I dial *67 by itself or with a phone number after it. I have also tried *81 as there are other services that use that command.

Has anyone gotten Caller ID blocking working in any way?

We will have to look into this, it should be enabled if your ATA allows it. X-Lite does not I believe.

I know that our softphone currently does not support this ability.
It's generally an ATA-Specific setting depending on model

I blocked mine in the settings on my ata. I dont want anyone to get my number from their phone, i also have my cell phone come up as Unknown name and number. I dont like the idea of people knowing its me when I call.

I don't answer to people who are "Unknown"...let it go to answering machine.

i have an app for my iphone that sends a busy to unknown or restricted callers....iblacklist..you can't even leave me a voice message....people who have nothing to hide, hide nothing
