New config file for porting number?

Post by pete_fpl »

I am thinking of porting over a cell # I have. I have purchased the config file for another #. If I port over, do I need to buy another file? Cause that would suck.

You may choose to port your cell number over to REPLACE the FPL # you currently have for $25 + tax. If you wish to keep both your current FPL Number AND port your Cell number over, you'll need to pay for another config file ($50) getting another FPL number, and then port your cell # to that new FPL number for $25 + tax.

I'm thinking just porting over my cell onto my current account that has the config file and am using as a home phone. The SIP Username is my current fpl #, so will that change to the ported #?

Also, if in the future I leave fpl, how exactly do you port the # out if there are no bills?

Correct - the SIP username will change to your ported number. Everything else will remain the same.

To port out - simply tell the new carrier that you wish to port X number from freephoneline. They'll take care of the rest with us :) (but we hope to never see you leave!)

Ya I don't see myself leaving anytime soon :P But when I posted my old # to a new carrier they wanted my last bill, and also you guys request that too - but since fpl (aka fongo haha) doesn't have monthly bills, other than long distance, concerned there may be an issue with this later.
