can speed dial on Linksys ATA include a pause?

Post by appost »

I use a prepaid calling card to dial numbers not available for free. I am looking at the speed dial configuration of the Linksys ATA--can I specifiy a pause, i.e. a time delay between dialing some numbers (e.g. local access number) and the calling card PIN?

I believe the first digit of the speed dial is # or *; can it be changed to something else like 0?
For handsets, I think # or * can get interpretted by the memory dial feature as a pause and makes it impossible to dial a speed dial, if I am not mistaken.

Thanks again

Well as far as I know you can't do a speed dial with a break on any phone.

ie. *1(DIAL) --> 15194894458 (PAUSE) 1234

The # function is just an indication to dial right away.

If you swap the * our for a 0 it would confuse it most likely for long distance international and mess up the call with the calling card.
