hi guys i'm using Microsoft headset lx3000 and os win7 , when i make a phone call i get my own voice coming back in my ear piece any ideas how to stop this?

The echo is the result of any or combination of the ff:
- Your calling party and/or your volume setting on Win 7 is too high
- Your calling party and/or you speak too loud

Lowering down volumes on your end will definitely help, and you could also ask your calling party to do the same.

Webcam mics are certainly more prone to echo and feedback than a headset would be. The webcam is usually sitting somewhere near your monitor, which is much further away from you than a headset would be, thus making it more prone to pick-up echo and the sound coming out of your own speakers. If you make calls a lot then I'd certainly recommend picking up a good headset with a mic - you won't regret it!

I am still trying to understand what the above quote has to do with the original post that clearly states microsoft lifechat lx 3000. The OP has a good headset already! Incidentally, I have one and it is not a bad headset for the price I paid.

thanks for your feedback guys , i returned the headset there was something wrong with it. London drugs checked it for me and exchanged it, good people to deal with.

Keep sound volumes low and mute the mike tab in the windows audio set up (I remember that as being important though I no longer use MS Windows so can't check at present).
