How to set up "Music on Hold" and other features

Postby monal » 07/01/2012

Hello everybody,
I have Linksys PAP 2T ATA. I have Free Phone Line provider for it.
I want to use "Music on Hold" and all other features (like Selective/Anonymous Call Rejection, Call Return, Distinctive Ringing - Calling and Called Number, Hot line and Warm Line Calling, Speed Dialing of 8 Numbers/Addresses etc.) available for my ATA.
But I don't know how to set them up.
I have searched on the internet for them. But I could not find it.
So please, can somebody help me set up all features ?
Thanks a lot in advance.

Those options, to the best of my knowledge, arenot supported by FPL. Re read your router manual carefully --- it is a supported feature not an included one...

Hi Hardy,
Thank you very much for the prompt reply.
But in one of the thread in this forum, it is written by FPL tech. person (Steve or Kris) that "Music on Hold" is supported and working by FPL.
Moreover, should I check router manual or ATA manual ?

I imagine this is primarily a concern when you use an IP-PBX such as asterisk or 3cx to connect to your FPL account as opposed to standard ATA equipment as most ATAs do not allow for the upload or serving of MOH files.

I did a search too and did not find it ... what terms were you using? Perhaps point me to that thread --- I was unable to find it. :(

As it is an ATA feature that you are trying to get working, it would be the ATA manual to take a gander at ... again, I have not had much luck in finding that post ...

I did try the linksys site to take a look for/at the manual, but I seem to be having a time of it tonight accessing it :(

Hello Hardy & Bloodsong,
Thank you so much for the reply.
BTW, Hardy below is the link for what I wrote about.

This thread reply was written by Steve from Fongo on 04/11/2012.
I also want to know, "How can we forward the unwanted telemarketers call to a specified number ?"
I tried it, but it doesn't work.
Please help me out.
Thanks in advance.

Fwd unwanted calls

Postby TheHardy » 07/24/2012

You will need to know the specific numbers that the telemarketers are calling from and set up a list of those numbers for that to work correctly. So you will either need a blacklist or build one from scratch.

This will rely, of course, on the caller ID being presented correctly. I am not sure that anyone has gotten this to work 100% reliably yet.
