DellVoice and WindMobile
I love WindMobile because it is cheap. But you get what you pay for. Voice mail is an extra $8 a month. Call forwarding is free, but is either ON or OFF. And the signal is, well, it is what it is.
I wanted more, and with a little help from the Wind tech people, and Fido's help pages, I discovered a way to not only get voice mail, but also busy/unavailable/no answer call forwarding. I installed DellVoice on my HTC Amaze 4g Android phone. (DellVoice has an iPhone, Android, Blackberry, and a Windows softphone.)
Here are the short codes (you must be on Wind HOME for this to work). In this example below substitute the "n's" with your Dell voice number, including area code:
*61*nnn-nnn-nnnn# then press Call - this activates no answer call forwarding
*62*nnn-nnn-nnnn# then press Call - this activates out-of-reach call forwarding
*67*nnn-nnn-nnnn# then press Call - this activates busy call forwarding
To cancel any service, press #61#, #62# or #63#.
To reactivate, press ##61##, ##62##, or ##67##.
I have the DellVoice dialer on my home screen, and dial from it when I'm in my cave of a basement suite. Plus when anyone calls me, and I'm unavailable on Wind, the call immediately rings on DellVoice. Now, when I'm at home, in my basement, which is out of range for Wind, but within range of my wireless network, my cell calls STILL come through!
WooHoo! Now I don't have to fork out $400 on a cell booster.

Great solution! Thanks for sharing this! This could be used on just about any cell carrier to help save even more money by using Dell Voice in place of those expensive add-on features from cell providers!

Definitely gonna set up the gf's phone this way, thx for the idea. Full list of GSM forwarding codes (which are just slightly different to the above, but easy enough to test) and some other features is here:

Re: DellVoice and WindMobile
Thanks for the advice. I would also recommend using the forwarding app that is already built into the ANDROID ( I'm running ANDROID 4.0.3 on the same HTC AMAZE 4G ). I go to SETTINGS > CALL > CALL FORWARDING and then set up the the very flexible forwarding options which I can then use in a quick need AND can deactivate from the NOTIFICATION drop-down page.

Re: DellVoice and WindMobile
just want to thank Fongo and Dell Voice for supporting the Canadian customers. Thinking of getting the unlimited dataplan with Wind for Their Jan 2013 promotion at $29 with no voicemail and no long distance.
Thought of using YouMail but looks like its a hassle and they won't support till you pay up.
Thought of using GrooveIP for long distance but doesn't work.
NetTalk doesn't work either for long distance on Android.
Tried Dell Voice, give it full thumbs up, amazing clarity and quality( of course free long distance within Canada). And thier voicemail finely incorporates into my Android Call forwarding settings.
I think Android 4 and up have manual call forwarding settings but if you can't here's a short cut
'*004*1-nnn-nnn-nnnn#' ; type in everything between the quotes and replace nnn with your Dell Voice number.
And thanks to rjbbrooksq for initiating the post.
