QoS setting on SPA 2102

hi,

I was wondering if you could help in tweaking the voice quality by changing QoS settings on 2102.

QoS should be set to "None or TBF"
Maximum uplink speed should be how much & how do u calculate it. Default value is 128 kpbs.

If you could please help on this setting.

What model of router do you have?

linksys wrt54g

but my connection is as follows:=

Modem---> 2102 ATA ---> Router

Just so I know, are you running DHCP off the 2102 or the Linksys WRT54G?

Are they in the IP range? You may have to change the WRT54G's IP from 192.168.1.1 (I THINK) to 192.168.2.1 or something similar.

both are set to DHCP

ip for ATA 192.168.0.1

Router ip 192.168.1.1

So you have two devices generating DHCP which are plugged into a single network. That may cause issues...

Anyways, I'll check out that router and see what I can pull up for QoS.

1) In the WAN section for 2102 ATA , we have Qos Setting

2) In the Application & gaming section for Linksys WRT54G , we have Qos settings.

My connection is :

Modem ----> ATA 2102

from ATA 2102 ------> Linksys Router 54G (for wireless connection)

I changed the Ip address of the ATA to 192.168.2.1

& the router ip is same 192.168.1.1

Pls advise further.

Kola, I didn't quite understand what you mean by "best" QoS settings, QoS really depends on your line speed, profile, and router...

I have my ATA connected to Asterisk which runs through the DMZ of my WRT54GS at home. No need for QoS
