Cisco SPA112 ATA phone hook LED off and getting no dial tone
Hi :
I am trying to configure the Cisco SPA112 ATA using my MAC computer
MY ISP = Bell DSL
I am using Bell DSL Router+Modem
Have followed all the setup steps given in the following link
http://www.callcentric.com/support/devi ... 112-spa122
After completing the setup I have no dial tone on my phone and the phone hook LED light on SPA112 adapter is off.
I am frustated and spent many hours trying various options.
Any help/guidance would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: Cisco SPA112 ATA phone hook LED off and getting no dial
The guide that you have followed for configuring your ATA is intended for setting up a Callcentric account. While the Callcentric guide can give some good general help you must reconfigure the ATA with the equivalent settings for FPL/DellVoice. DId you try to use the settings with an actual Callcentric account (you can get one free)? Did you reconfigure the device to work with FPL/DellVoice?

Re: Cisco SPA112 ATA phone hook LED off and getting no dial
Thanks for your reply.
Actually I used the CallCentric Guide for general help
But added all the actual values which were given by FPL SIP settings page, under my FPL account.
I also tried the FPL settings which are given in the following link
http://forum.fongo.com/download/file.php?id=67
Therefore i am out of ideas to resolve this issue.
Need help to diagnose and resolve the issue.
Thanks again.

Re: Cisco SPA112 ATA phone hook LED off and getting no dial
It is probably to do with your account information.
Firstly I will ask, as you didn't say, have you bought the config file from FPL?
If so, when entering your account number make sure you have the initial 1 on the number, not just 613366xxxx
Be careful when entering your password, some of the letters/digits can look similar in certain fonts. It is easier to copy and paste BUT be careful as sometimes extra whitespace can be added to the end of what you copy. I always paste it into notepad first, then copy it again from there so I can be sure of what I am pasting in.
Look on your admin page on FPL on the SIP settings page and see if you are connected there (it will say what your user agent is) to see if FPL is actually seeing you or not.

Re: Cisco SPA112 ATA phone hook LED off and getting no dial
Thanks Jake :
To answer your question, yes I have bought the SIP config file from FPL.
Yes I am entering the 1 before my account id.
And have taken all the precaution in typing the password and have tried entering that multiple times.
On admin SIP settings page on FPL it says 'Disconnected'
So what does it mean, there is an issue in the SIP config.
and can I call FPL and ask them to verify the SIP config for me.

Re: Cisco SPA112 ATA phone hook LED off and getting no dial
Disconnected means your ATA is not talking to the FPL server
FPL are not very forth coming with help to people that just buy the config files, so it would probably be not worth your time calling in.
The next thing I would try is removing the ATA out of the equation for a moment - just to make sure your account is set up right. Download a free SIP phone (not the FPL desktop one) and set that up with your details. I always use the 3CX one, but there are lots others like x-lite
Windows
http://www.3cx.com/downloads/3CXPhone6.msi
http://www.counterpath.com/x-lite-5-for ... nload.html
MAC
http://www.counterpath.com/x-lite-5-for ... nload.html
http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/23969/isoftphone
See if you can get connected with one of those. If so, it looks like your ATA is not set up right, so do a complete reset and go though the settings again. If not, it is either something on your network that is stopping VOIP connections or your account is not set up right possibly. From there I would probably go to a friends house and try on their network, or ask nicely for a member of staff here to try your account details.
**One thing I should have mentioned is, this section is not for problems but more for how-tos, so don't expect your thread to stay here when a staff members sees it, it will be moved to the correct sub forum.

Great Jake :
You have given me lots of options to Try.
Let me try them and will update this post accordingly.
Really appreciate your effort in taking time to reply.
If I end up replacing my ATA, which one do you recommend to buy off the market.
Thanks again.

I had the same problem and could not resolve it (even after upgrading the firmware). Finally I just used Line 2 instead.
