Hi,
I have ATA 2102, and I have configured the SIP settings as recomanded. I have opened the ports and I can call out and recieve calls without any issues.
The problem I have is that when I make outbound calls the other party says I sound "FAR" there is no echo on the line just a volume issue.... They can not hear me well and they say i sound far away...
Is there a trick or a config issue with this?
Thanks.,
People say I sound far away

Have you tried a different phone handset? That's the #1 cause of these types of issues

Not realy... so your saying that I am limited with which phones I can use? Is there no settings to increase/decrease the volume on calls?FPL-steve wrote:Have you tried a different phone handset? That's the #1 cause of these types of issues

You aren't limited to phones. But cheap or damaged phones can cause those sound issues you're experiencing. I always suggest simply trying a different handset before diving into the ATA settings and tweaking in there.Avster wrote:Not realy... so your saying that I am limited with which phones I can use? The phone is brand new so i dont think its the phone........ after researching this matter i found out that simply increasing the FXS Port Input Gain--- fixed the issue... The other side can hear me better now.FPL-steve wrote:You aren't limited to phones. But cheap or damaged phones can cause those sound issues you're experiencing.
